Really ?
Stop talking out of your arse.
Brook needs the title to tempt others.
To make those fights happen his Promoter needs to back it financially.
Clearly that's not happening for whatever reason so maybe it is time to move to pastures new.
However I do agree the "who wants him" tag applies for Kell. The money argument is a perfect foil when in reality you just don't want the fight.
Lets see what the summer brings. I agree it's got to be a real headliner or its time to get a plane over to the States get a new promoter and risk all.
Del, is this you?
No.

What do you think the reason is?

Kevin Bizier. I mean come on. Zzzzzzzz.

Brook is coming up for 30 in May, he should be fighting legacy fights right now. What is this tosh tonight all about really?

Yeah it's a bag of pish but it's a mandatory. He really has to secure a big name for the summer. Bizier had a good win last time out to get back to mandatory status. He'll be well out of his depth tonight though. I thought he looked very nervy at the weigh in.

earned what though, who has khan ever beat that was a top fighter in his prime at the time not having maidana he improved a lot after that fight or Devon Alexander saw him in his last fight. porter is better then almost everyone khan has faced bar Danny Garcia . brook is a better fighter and will prove it,if given a chance

There's plenty of decent fights for Brook if he wants them. Which I've doubts if he does o be honest.

When you've worked hard to get a world title, by all means want to keep it and take some mantadories. Khan will come back crawling if/when he's put on his arse by Canelo.

I think Brook needs to think above and beyond Khan and Wembley. Get over to the US, defend against some decent opponents or even grab another title, then he can make people come to him.

I think Brook wants the big fights. I just think he is kind of avoided, fairly unknown in US so people won't make big money fighting him but might just get a loss. Agree Khan might come crawling once he gets beat by Canelo so let's wait and see, but that fight isn't until 7th May so that could end up dragging on especially with negotiations. What Brook needs now is momentum back in his career after his injuries.

I don't think he needs to do any of thisfor his next fight, but perhaps the next mandatory they throw his way, take it over there and get in the American's faces and on their radar again.

The lack of a mega pay day would be worth it, as it would make for a bigger one down the way.

Two or three "B Level" American's beaten on their home soil, and if he can do it emphatically all the better, would make for an "A Level" fighter, a big payout and home advantage, later down the line.

why do too many idiots on here not understand what mandatory defences are. if you want to keep your belt you fight the mandatories. simple as that.

I'm sure everyone on here realises that. But if Dan & Bizier are the representative of the mandatory fights Brook will continue to have, he'd be better off dumping the belt and seeking a fight with someone decent which would bring him a bigger payday anyway.

Frankie Gavin wasnt a mandatory though...

I think people are right to expect a little more from Brook's reign as champion particularly in such a hot division. Personally, id like to see Brook take out Garcia.

Lets not also forget that deals can be done with mandatories to agree to step aside.

Wasn't Gavin a replacement though? For the reasons mentioned above he won't have even had time to get "B listed" Americans to agree to it at that notice. Gavin was easy to sort because he is a stablemate.

If he doesn't get an exciting fight next then I will join in brook bashing.

Brook was fighting better men 4 years ago, the title reign of a champion should be a proud one, not one full of poor opponents and politically connected fighters. That there are boxers as inept as Dan, Gavin and Bizier in the world top 10 makes me dizzy.

His next mandatory will be the winner of Spence-Algieri. That will be a good one.

Agreed.

It almost brings tears to my eyes when fighters like No No Dan & Kevin Crappier are contenders for a so-called world title.

Team Brook don't do themselves any favours either by selecting Frankie Gavin for a voluntary.

Brook's next bout better be a big one, otherwise he risks becoming a laughing stock & that would be a real shame for a talented fighter in a stacked division.

scenario for you.... brook gives up his belt, a fight with cotto is lined up, mega fight. in the build up, cotto gets injured and pulls out.....what does brook do then??.... he has no belt to lure opponents, he is no longer champion, he is already avoided before the belt is even in consideration. brook is really in a lose lose situation. it was imperative that he disposed of bizier in emphatic fashion, which he did. hopefully now its 'over to eddie' to produce a big summer fight (june/july/aug)...if eddie cant, then its time to change promoters......not drop the belt.
