I think you could be wrong. Brook is never as big a ppv draw than canelo is. Khan just wants the payday but he'll have to take a tough beat down before he gets that. Khan doesn't have the defensive nous to outwit canelo, but there could be a clause where canelo has to come in at at certain weight on fight night

Khan will probably get almost twice the purse
For Canelo then Brook.

This will be HBO PPV on one of the premium dates in the US. Plus Khan will easily cut a big deal with sky for sky sports PPV (and no Hearn can't do shitt about it) plus the money from the rest of the world

Hearn can for this one, Khan's a UK fighter so Sky Sports have to get his agreement for it, which they will, there's no chance he'd get in the way of it, might try and take a cut though like he did for Klitschko-Fury.

The other option for Khan is to cut Hearn and Sky Sports out altogether and go to allegedly for it.

Well, no one can call Khan a coward.

brook vs whatever the guys name is looks even more of a joke now.

But it is bad for the middleweight division, hopefully the winner is forced to face Ggg at 160 or vacate.
Agree, it is a great fight for us British fans but terrible for the middleweight division. Canelo will never ever face GGG. He may not even ever face a genuine middleweight.

Points taken, but I wasn't comparing Brook to Alaverz, I just think that Khan vs Brook in the UK generates a lot of cash. Khan is very much the B-side vs Canelo.

British fans see big crowds and think they will bring in more money. It is simply not true. There is a reason Brits fight abroad, site fees & TV piss on what Sky pay. PPV boosts purses, but do people honestly think a decent US PPV will be outstripped by a British one. It is ludicrous.

A writer tried telling me that Froch-Chavez on PPV would have done less than Froch-GGG in UK. Yeah, the UK brings in huge revenues, that is why we make the Avengers films here in the UK.

I did Amir for BM talking big US fights. People laughed it off. Like him or not, he has something the US likes, which is why he has this one.

Dumb question but does being ranked 1 at welter actually allow him to fight for middle weight title as not ranked in top 15 at middle obviously, or is it just another example of money proving rankings are a joke??

^^ I know we're operating now purely in the realm of chances that have to be measured with some sort of quantum tunnelling microscope, but I for one wouldn't be at all surprised to see Amir call out GGG if he wins this.

He's that b̶r̶a̶v̶e̶ m̶e̶n̶t̶a̶l̶ brave.

He could use BN/FW to get on Sky (not Sky Sports) Box Office without involving Eddie. Now that I would love!

What's not to like, Rawling and Jones over Halling and Watt, allegedly over Sky and if they did a good show to lead into it I'd pay for it.

Is fury vs wlad rematch not being earmarked for the 7th may?? If so sky ppv all day long.

Just paper talk, no quotes in there and they said Allianz Arena when 1860 Munich are playing there that day. Peter Fury then came out and said it would be May but they didn't know exactly when or where.

Even if it is, that doesn't guarantee that Sky Sports will get either fight, they actually have some proper competition for PPVs now that BN can do them, both will end up with the highest bidder.

Unfortunately I'm not sure holding that view makes me all that cynical

I will be *fascinated* to see khans in-ring weight

I'm sure we will see his time out of the ring has been put to good use, with an extensive *strength and conditioning* programme, some very scientific *protein shakes*, and of course a few nights out with that little scamp *kid galahads brother*

I'd go for BN to pick it up, khan won't sell during the night ppv on sky Imo unless they can piggy back on fury rematch (and potentially citeh arsenal for title)

I don't think it would be a huge, huge upset but I've never really been sold on Canelo as truly elite. He's arguably one of the worst recent 'superstars' of the sport.
Not even arguably. He's bang-fuckin-average and trades on size advantage and little else

If Chris Algieri can stun Khan, then I dread to think what one of Canelo's big overhand right's can do to him.

I think we'll see Liam Smith v TBA, Jazza Dickens v Abigail Medina and Ryan Farrag v Karim Guerfi from Liverpool plus the rest of the undercard, then onto Alvarez-Khan from the States. Question is whether it will be PPV or not.

Im a big fan of Canelo and rate his chances as being better than 50/50 against GGG but weirdly, I think Khan may have a chance here. It's all about styles really. Canelo isn't the fastest and his work rate isn't great either. What he is, is strong, tough, durable, accurate, solid puncher etc. If Khan gets his tactics right, his hand speed and work rate could defo cause Canelo problems. Ive never even thought about this fight but when i heard today my immediate thoughts were that Khan isn't as big cannon fodder as we may think.

Massive respect to Khan, the guy has some ballz i'll say, never seen this one coming in a million miles, this could be a brutal, clinical painful lesson for Amir,i do genuinly hope he isnt badly hurt

Gotta wonder what team Canelo are playing at though

Can actually see Khan giving Canelo problems in the first few rounds, but I just don't think he can avoid taking a shot from Canelo for 12 rounds and when that happens it's surely lights out for Khan.
