Date TBA in summer but @SHOsports also close to deal for Leo Santa Cruz to defend 126 title vs. Carl Frampton. Probably in US. Great fight.

That's a fair summary of my view as well.

Highly unlikely that LSC pulls a Quigg.

Frampton better be prepared to deal with a significantly bigger guy who will be coming at him with punches all night.

Remembered about this fight today because I saw a post by Cyclone promotions on facebook about selling tickets. Just made me think, do we know what channel this fight is going to be on? Don't remember having heard or seen anything.

Leo will stop Frampton. Too big, to strong, too relentless. Carl will run around few rounds but his power wont carry and he will succumb to pressure late.

Frampton should have stayed at 122 and fought Rigo in Ireland, I've said it before.

I agree with all this minus the stoppage bit (I lean toward a wide decision for LSC)

If Frampton wins this, there's gonna be a helluva lot of people eating their words.

I am of the opinion that people just fo not know how good Carl is.

He's not been anywhere near his best for his last two outings whereas LSC seems to have found another level and I think that plays a part when a lot of people are making their predictions. I hope the little bit extra weight rejuvenates him. Being the outsider will probably help as well I reckon. He'll definitely have his moments but I hope he's well conditioned because he seems to fade in the championship rounds. Again maybe that was to do with the weight?

Buzzing for Saturday already! I have to work Sunday morning at 7 so it's going to be a long feckin night. Won't be bothered if he wins though :TU:

Frampton has the much bigger frame and Leo only looks about 2 inches taller head to head, he was dropped by Kiko Martinez who recently had a draw against a journeyman so we can safely say Kiko is shot to bits. LSC also said he was surprised by Kikos strength and that Kiko was probably the most physically strong fighter he's ever faced, which means he's in for a big shock against Frampton

Also, Framptons win over Quigg shits on Leos win over Mares, have you seen Mares since he lost to Gonzalez? struggling against journeymen

I feel very confident for Frampton in this one, he will be by far the hardest puncher Leo has faced, Kiko and Quigg hit harder than Leo

This is a myth if you actually look at his fights Carl comes on strong late, people seem to be basing the fading thing purely on the Quigg fight

He will be a lot fitter this time as well with the extra 4 lbs in weight on weigh in day but very importantly no IBF weigh in on the morning of the fight.

I'm very confident in this one LsC is the most over rated fighter in the sport.

I rewatched the Mares fight yesterday I didn't even think he was that good.

Agree, for such a highly rated fighter LSC does look a bit of an arm puncher ...admittedly he does get real leverage and might be able to hurt Carl, but I'm thinking the Irishman may have the more solid shots in this one.

Plus did Kiko shake the mexican's legs a bit with that knockdown.....?

I never seen Santa Cruz's fight with Martinez and never knew Kiko decked him, even still as much as i think he's a great fighter i still fancy Frampton in this and am surprised so many people are writing Carl off, especially in the media etc

This isn't a myth. He faded badly in the Quigg fight and alarm bells were going. He was dog tired going in to the later rounds against Gonzalez and was blowing as early as the 8/9th rounds in the first Martinez fight until he found the straight right hand that put him away. In the second fight he was tired going in to the championship rounds but he found a second wind and really put it on Martinez in the twelfth. If you watch the Turley and Hirales fights he doesn't have the same output later in the fight either. To be fair he wasn't himself from the opening bell against Turley.

I'm hoping the extra weight helps bring back the best in him and hopefully a little extra power. He's not been at his explosive best in the last two outings. He's going to have to hurt LSC early and let him know he's in for it when he pours forward.

Yeah Carl hits harder and cleaner than Martinez so he has a chance. Most folk in the media seem to think Carl is getting blown away. It's a 50/50 fight for me. I slightly favour LSC because he's the 'home' fighter and I can't see Carl getting the nod if it's close. Hopefully I'm wrong.
