Ricky Burns Round by Round
Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
Better sixth for Limond, though I gave it to Nurse, who I have 2 up now, but W's not ready to go yet.
Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
7th close but give it to Nurse. Brilliant gutsy effort from Limond to keep going forward like this.
Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
Willie was getting a pounding; Nurse was coasting. The only thing is that WL obviously wanted to continue, though it was obviously only to get worse for him, but I tend to think that if a fighter is willing and still trying then you should let him carry on.

Two good domestic fights tonight
Don't include a single matchroom fighter.

Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
Really gutted for Limond he really gave it his all as always,at 37 though it was just another case of the mind willing but the body unable, although he did show glimpses of his quality, just a shame he couldnt sustain it
Nurse again showing he's a classy operator he does tend to switch off though and has a lazy defence and should really learn when to close a show,if Limond wasnt 37 and had a bloody nose,i could have seen Tyrone carrying an opponent to the cards with the same showing, credit where credits due though
Good stoppage from Vic,he didnt go over the top when he stepped in like that pudendum Jack Reiss

Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
Seems like the end of an era if Limond does retire

Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
What's this Michele Di Rocco like then any good I seem to remember him winning a controversial decision to Lenny daws that's about it?
Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
Limond's been a great pro. All credit to him. What a warrior.
Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
Not sure how Ed robinson kept a straight face when he just said there was a stacked undercard at goodison.

He's a basic, EBU level guy, which of course is why he is fighting Burns in Scotland for a vacant (and apparently history making) world title.Rexob wrote:What's this Michele Di Rocco like then any good I seem to remember him winning a controversial decision to Lenny daws that's about it?
Re: Ricky Burns Round by Round
Good seeing Benn being matched well early on, Keleher is better suggested on paper, every fight he's been matched against has been against an unbeaten fighter albeit prospects. A handful of amateur fights, extremely raw and learning on the job. Entertaining yes, but lots to learn... but from hearing him and his team speak they fully understand that.
He needs to reign it in being so gung-ho, because he's getting caught too much.. Keleher hit him a clean a good few times with the left hook. Didn't agree with it being 40-36.
Brave performance from Willie Limond... tough tough man, but it was the right call from Loughlin... he was starting to take too many shots.
Come on Ricky!!

Yeah, I think Ricky is pretty shot, so be interesting this fight.
