Groves points
Think groves right hand would give smith some stick

Somehow? Were you not watching the first 3 rounds?jamamb wrote:well, since apparently some ppl saw cox ahead somehow, i imagine that it will balance out a bit more now.
The 1st round was close I thought. Round 2 couldn't have been anything BUT a Cox round. Round 3 was a Cox round as well. Ultimately Groves got it done with a perfectly placed bodyshot, but I find it odd that anybody would've had him ahead over the first 3 rounds of action.jamamb wrote:ya, and i watched all the best work come from groves. cox was just mauling and doing scrappy stuff but very little of substance. he followed groves around like a dog and was the one getting hit for most of it.
This. Cox was an uninspiring 154lber and is a bang average super middle at this level. This is a weak division but Cox won't get close to winning a top 4 beltjamamb wrote:ya, and i watched all the best work come from groves. cox was just mauling and doing scrappy stuff but very little of substance. he followed groves around like a dog and was the one getting hit for most of it.
you gave him way too much credit just for being the one moving forward. he literally did hardly anything other than that for the first round and got hit several times. then in round two his legs went away near the end, and in round three again all the best PUNCHES from groves. if mauling wrestling and missing shots against ropes are your thing, then sure, cox clearly ahead.gilgamesh wrote:The 1st round was close I thought. Cox landed several more punches than Groves in Round 2.jamamb wrote: you gave him way too much credit just for being the one moving forward. he literally did hardly anything other than that for the first round and got hit several times. then in round two his legs went away near the end, and in round three again all the best PUNCHES from groves. if mauling wrestling and missing shots against ropes are your thing, then sure, cox clearly ahead.
This. I just felt I saw what I'd expect from Cox tonight - gutsy but he needs to be able to bully opponents and he's far to small at this weight to bully and if the top lads. He didn't land anything of quality tonight, just bulled away until Groves measured him up properly.jamamb wrote:you gave him way too much credit just for being the one moving forward. he literally did hardly anything other than that for the first round and got hit several times. then in round two his legs went away near the end, and in round three again all the best PUNCHES from groves. if mauling wrestling and missing shots against ropes are your thing, then sure, cox clearly ahead.gilgamesh wrote:The 1st round was close I thought. and my decision on who wins was made easier tonight. Groves for me should take it, can't say comfortably based on the scoring tonight.
