Enjoy your weekend buddy, I truly hope Jerome is all good and he can move on.
Appreciate you can't say too much
The people who make this sport what it is (fighters) always get the poo end of the bargain and their the ones puttin ther body through the mill while the likes of trainers promotors managers reap the rewards, like ,for instance, hearn saying the other day "any ticket sold in the next 24hours goes to towell's family" now if i was hearn and i wanted to do good for towell and his family i would open up my wallet pull out a cheque and startin moving my pen across it not get the public to do it,all rats and the only decent ppl in boxing is the boxersarlovski wrote:It's a shame that a lot of people involved with boxing outside of the ring seem to be self serving, egotistical, untrustworthy bullies and wannabe (or real) local gangsters.
In all the time i've been around the sport it's really rare that a trainer/manager/promoter is universally liked or respected as a decent honest person, always seems to be a few nasty stories/rumours about everyone.
Ironically the majority of actual boxers i've known have been the opposite - friendly, genuine, sincere guys with few bad intentions, at least outside the ring.
Probably explains why so many fighters have ended up exploited+treated like crap by the ars*holes at the business end of the game.
Nothing to do with Coldwell by the way, i thought he comes across as one of the nice guys of the sport, but the stories/rumours in this thread just seem to illustrate my point.
Sad really.

He ignored Jerome Wilson at the BBC of controls awards night that's 1 scum bag.why does he always walk about with bouncers round him why won't he go anywhere on his own why is he constantly looking over is shoulder.a nice guy don't have to do that. Not really because the show was probably nearly at the end of the ticket sales anyway so he was just tryin to get extra tickets sold, just pull the cash out his own account he would be more respected that waysamwbr wrote:Writing a cheque or giving the tickets sales is the same thing for him.thechump wrote:The people who make this sport what it is (fighters) always get the poo end of the bargain and their the ones puttin ther body through the mill while the likes of trainers promotors managers reap the rewards, like ,for instance, hearn saying the other day "any ticket sold in the next 24hours goes to towell's family" now if i was hearn and i wanted to do good for towell and his family i would open up my wallet pull out a cheque and startin moving my pen across it not get the public to do it,all rats and the only decent ppl in boxing is the boxersarlovski wrote:It's a shame that a lot of people involved with boxing outside of the ring seem to be self serving, egotistical, untrustworthy bullies and wannabe (or real) local gangsters.

well I can say 1 thing not many promoters make money not unless you have TV throwing money in yes it's hard for boxers but it's what they want to do and if you are a ticket seller you get better deals than a none seller and he ends up on the road. Putting shows on isn't cheap especially charges front Bbbof c doctors paramedics away fighters etc etc.so if a show cost 10000 and you have 10 fights each boxer as to put a grand in just to break even.it's a hard sport to make money and only Herne makes it with sky tvthechump wrote:The people who make this sport what it is (fighters) always get the poo end of the bargain and their the ones puttin ther body through the mill while the likes of trainers promotors managers reap the rewards, like ,for instance, hearn saying the other day "any ticket sold in the next 24hours goes to towell's family" now if i was hearn and i wanted to do good for towell and his family i would open up my wallet pull out a cheque and startin moving my pen across it not get the public to do it,all rats and the only decent ppl in boxing is the boxersarlovski wrote:It's a shame that a lot of people involved with boxing outside of the ring seem to be self serving, egotistical, untrustworthy bullies and wannabe (or real) local gangsters.

Totally agree but with regards to hearn saying we will give the money off every icket sold in the next 24 hours to the family is stupid, thats like saying "cmon public buy more tickets sell this show out" he would be thought of more if he wrote a cheque and handed it to iron mike's missus,he can afford it,he harps on about the boxing community and how they all pull together,he only pulls together if there is something init for him the snakebodyactive wrote:the Board should pay them first they make loads too and should pay them through insurancethechump wrote:Exactly so put his hand in his own pocket and give to the towell familybodyactive wrote:well I can say 1 thing not many promoters make money not unless you have TV throwing money in yes it's hard for boxers but it's what they want to do and if you are a ticket seller you get better deals than a none seller and he ends up on the road. Anyway, Hearn sold £3,720 worth of tickets and then doubled that "out of his own pocket". I'm sure that'll please you.

He’s not a Hearn fighter, Hearn is under no legal or moral obligation is Hearn under to provide.
He was doing a good deed by giving 100% of a days tickets sales to the fund, but you pissed on that gesture. He doubled the amount from his own pocket and you still cant given credit where it is due. You sound like either a really.......nah forget it. Enjoy you day.
Slap Bang Wallop loves arguments and won't admit when he is wrong, ever ! Guess he loves Eddie. I agree it is not a lot for someone so rich, it depends on the individual, Eddie has given more to Amateur clubs, at times, in donations, however, I do agree that people who make big money from boxers putting their health on the line, should contribute generously in times like these.thechump wrote:And u buddy, dont know why YOUR takin it so personal,if u like hearn and dont like ppl bashin him thats up to u to own it,ye £7,440 is a good gesture but half of that was really payed by the public, hatton isnt his manager or promotor either but still dipped into his own pocket and not only put £5 G's in but strted the ball rolling for £45+ G's now that gets credit and respect.
