Don't shoot the messenger but why should Vargas earn significantly more than Brook - and I man SIGNIFICANTLY.

How about he stops worrying about what his opponent gets and just fights. Hes had 3 absolute joke title defenses that posed zero risk which I am sure he was well compensated for (especially with the gavin fight being PPV). He moans about not getting the big fight, well here it is. Just take the fight and the bigger pay days will come. If brook went to USA i am sure he would want more than Vargas as well. I am a Brook fan but if he pulls out of this fight there is absolutely no defending him. Vargas has signed, thats a fact. Its all down to Brook. If this fight does not happen he is 100% to blame.

Bang on

Like I said in a previous post I don't even think it's Hearns fault either.

But Eddie is going to twist things totally to avoid falling out with Brook. The fact is Vargas agreed everything his end and there was a press conference due two weeks ago which Vargas had to cancel flights for the day before.

Does Kell not understand what smashing another world champion in a headline fight on HBO does for him ?? And I mean this sets up BIG fights with Bradley,Cotto or Canelo people I think he CAN beat. With two belts he becomes a major player ...

Maybe he doesn't want to become a truly great fighter after all when the two best guys in his weight fought ( Pac v Bradley) he was not there calling out the winner same the other week for Thurman v Porter.

I hope I eat my words and this fight happens or Kell fights one of Thurman, Garcia, Khan,Cotto next nothing else will do.

It all comes down to mind-set and i'm not even talking about money.

The ultimate question is: DOES KELL BROOK REALLY WANT TO TEST HIMSELF?

Does he want to push himself further than ever before?
Does he want time sign for a fight against an opponent in which he is the underdog?
Does he want the big fights against the best fighters out there?

If he takes the Vargas fight, it won't answer all of these questions (but it will be a step in the right direction)

But if he doesn't take this fight, then the answer us a definite and conclusive NO.

Frankly, I don't see how any boxing fan or pundit could see it otherwise.

Brook has bags of ability but I don't believe he truly wants it, I don't think he truly believes in himself. Other fighters would be willing to walk over broken glass to get the big fight that would set them up for the next phase of their career. When money is more important to you than glory then you don't have the mindset and drive to be the best you can be.

I think they are chasing Keith Thurman rather than Vargas now, another very tough away assignment unless Eddie Hearn pays massive money to get him over here.

I honestly don't blame Brook. Why should he take loads less? It's not as if it's even a Bradley or Garcia coming over.

Would Vargas come over if his purse were significantly smaller? If Vargas isnt next, who realistically could be? Lamont Peterson? Devon Alexander? Chris van Heerden?

Because he NEEDS Vargas far more than Vargas needs brook.

Frankie Gavin rematch. It`s gotta happen. Either that or maybe Bradley Skeete in a crossover match for the ages, to find out who is the real "numma wan wewtaweiight in ver Wuuuuuurld"

Just get the fight on already willya Brook. Money before titles, coin before exposure, bro`s before ho`s...........

fight the man, take yer purse and move on to bigger things. Don`t fight the man and wallow in sub par defences for the next 12 months.

Agree with this Dont see what the big deal is about money vargas is a world champion and travelling one at that it's a unification fight he deserves a big payday

If this fight falls through vargas will go on to a bigger fight than Brook will vargas will defend against someone in the top 10 Brook won't defend against anyone ranked under 30

I've literally stopped following Brooks career now it's boring if I see a tweet I flick straight by can't be arsed to read them he had everything at his feet after Porter and his career as move backwards since winning the title

I love Ponomarev. In my opinion the most under-rated prospect in the world.

Spence-Ponomarev is a fight I'd love to see but not as early as this year (Spence would beat him) Spence has matured a lot quicker but I see Ponomarev as a future world champion. 2-3 years away.

But as alluded in your post not a good opponent for Brook. There is no fighter in the world who needs a named opponent more than Brook.

I feel the same way about Sammy Vasquez somewhat.

Because Hearn/Brook want to stay in the UK so therefore they have to pay the price to bring the other champ over. I'm sure Top rank wouldn't have a problem doing one of there own famous in house fights and sticking Vargas in with Bradley again or even sacrifice him to Pacquaio. Vargas has big fight options which he can stay in the US and get - Brook has zero unless they pay over the odds.

Both similar in the fact they have all the skill in the world, the question mark is do they have enough punching power at the highest level.

Vasquez looks good. He had the style to break people down and break hearts.
If Brook misses out and I was Vasquez's manager I'd move heaven and hell to get the Vargas fight.

Why is Hearn dicking about with the date ? Answer because he wants the Eubank PPV that's his priority.
Because of what hes offered Vargas this fight has to be PPV as well and Sky and the USA end want a minimum of 4 weeks between the fights.
All other issues are just smoke screens.
Hearn greed 1 fans 0.

Why do you think he is dicking about ? - it is because in order to make the big fights they need to pay good money to get people over to the UK, and in order to make this financially viable he wants it on PPV.

The only problem is that Brook isn't a PPV boxer - only a fight against Khan would be PPV and that is 90% down to Khan.

Brook needs to get over to USA, get some fights under his belt, get on tv, raise his profile etc. etc. in order to get PPV status - saying he wants more money when ticket sales and sponsorship money doesn't add up just means that he will remain inactive.

Surely though mate- to get Vargas over here (even if he was being paid less than he is now) it would have been on PPV? Nearly all the significant fights are.

Why does this sort of thing always seem to happen to Kell Brook? If he isn't happy with his money or Hearn, he should leave and relocate to the US like most of us have been saying for years. I'm sure Haymon would be more than happy to sign him up and stick him in some competitive fights.

The more I watched that, the more full of shit I realised Hearn is- here's why I feel that way ....

Regarding the Warrington-Selby delay- he starts coming up with bollocks about how Warrington wouldn't be physically and mentally ready to fight Selby near to his wedding date but then Warrington is still able to fight Hyland? So unless Hearn is implying that Hyland is shite and will be a walk in the park (which may well be the case) that doesn't really add up.

Then regarding Brook-Vargas he basically tries to blame Vargas for this fight not being made as he's asking for far too much money and yet admits that Vargas has signed a provisional contract accepting the terms on offer ie THE DEAL THAT HEARN OFFERED VARGAS ORIGINALLY WHICH HE'S NOW SAYING IS TOO MUCH!

He then says how Brook isn't happy with the money being offered to him and yet it was Hearn who offered Vargas that mucb which has led to there not being much money left over to go around.

I don't think Brook is blameless either but that seems like poor negotiating on Hearn's part before asking how much Broom would want from the fight. Surely you work that out first before you make the opposing fighter an offer like he did!?

You can't say to Vargas after initially offering him $2.2 million ( hypothetically) which was sent in a provisional contract, oh we don't like that deal, we're offering you $2 million now and expect him to be happy.

It's not a PPV fight. It will be, but it shouldn't be.

Brook has slipped from the casual radar, and Vargas is a complete unknown to them. Brook and Hearn have ballsed it up by making it PPV, shouting about Bramhall Lane etc. If this is at Sheffield Arena, I bet there's still tickets available a few weeks before the fight. They can absolutely forget fighting at Bramhall unless it's in a Banqueting Suite.

When's this going to happen? Bramhall Lane in the pissing rain in October? Even Sheffield United fans don't want to go there then, let alone the casual boxing audience paying £50+

As for the fight itself, because of all this sh*te that's gone on, I hope Brook loses. Vargas is coming over and accepted a contract. They are the ones who've dicked about and Brook is the one that needs Vargas. if it doesn't come off, Vargas can walk into a Bradley rematch or any of the other Welter's in the USA. Thurman etc aren't answering the phone to Brook without two belts.

Brook wants to sit at home feeding his face with Toblerone and con the world that the likes of Gavin etc are worthy opponents for him rather than actually fight anyone who might beat him.

He's not even as "Special" as he'd like to make out. I'd 100% back Porter if he ever fancied that rematch.

What Brook should be doing is getting his fat arse in two seats on the plane and getting in faces in the USA. have a fight over there and get known to some of his potential opponents. Hearn however isn't blameless and has sucked him off to a position Brook buy's his own shite.

It's an absolute pisstake.
