I think it's fair to say that the heavyweights of nowadays are far superior compared to the ones of 25 and more years ago.
Muhammad Ali wouldn't even have been a heavyweight all the time and barely any of his opponends were either. The ones that were clearly showed to be more competative.
The sport simply develops over time. Mike tyson is 3 inches shorter as Povetkin, who's already considered quite short for nowadays top level heavyweights standards.

Slob? He's not the best looking but his fitness is actually very good, he can quite happilly go 12 rounds. And other than recent fighters like Lennox Lewis I have serious doubts about any of the past greats against a prime Wlad.

How do the past greats get on against Sanders? Or Cunningham?

The slob in action

He's ugly, flabby, a spoiler, and not a big puncher for a top heavyweight, but he's far from a slob.
No slob can dance and slip for 12, Fury can.

Wladimir must be upset that it is not him dictating terms & deciding when & where fights happen.
He's had a decade of being the man & now he just another challenger who has to dance to the champion's tune, just like all the guys he's fought in the last 10 years.

Cunningham is pretty much just the same size as Ali. He looks tiny when getting manhandled by Fury

Cunningam put Fury flat on his back. You people are circus clowns if you think slob Fury could beat a guy like Tyson Ali or Foreman.

I'd have picked Ali and Holmes over Wlad any day, he'd never have been able to dominate either of them with the jab, and they both threw a hell of a lot more shots. The reason has been so dominant for so long, is people didn't give him angles, or lacked the physical tools to really compete. Foreman would have had the strength and persistence to wear him down. Some of the other guys like Liston who weren't that quick, might have struggled due to their size.
Tyson would probably have gotten Wlad out of there before he could settle into his monotonous jab jab right cross, he'd have slipped under and hit him hard. I can't see Wlad surviving the early onslaught. too tentative and mentally brittle.

The 12 stone Henry Cooper dropped Ali far harder. Tyson, like Ali, improved though.
People said the same about him fighting Wlad, but Fury took his shots.

Fury never took any of Wlad's shots. He was on his bike for 12 rounds in the worst HW fight ever involving a couple of belts.
Seriously this idea that slob Fury is even close to some kind of ATG deserve complete ridicule.

Cooper wasn't 12 stone, cooper was 13 stone 2 when he fought Ali the 1st time,.

I looked it up, he estimated 12st 12. he used weights to make himself heavier

Really? well, that's still nearer 13 than 12 though, 12 is 168, which is under super middleweight limit.

He can go 12 rounds throwing 10 punches a round. He'd die in a pace like Weaver/Coetzee, though both of them would knock him cold before he got tired. When was Wlad's prime?

Tyson is smaller as any top 100 boxrec heavyweight boxer of nowadays, Ali is similar muscled, similar speed, less range and less height. Tyson is basically the modern and UK version of Ali, just like Ali, Fury isn't even that popular at this moment of his carreer.
Briggs is similar to Foreman in some way, old, but good chin and Powerful. There's a reason most higher, but experienced boxers are scared of him.

I actually had to check.
http://boxrec.com/boxer/512687 This guy is 5'10" ranked 80
I didn't check them all but he was the shortest I found.

Not making any sense of this. Are you saying Mike Tyson would have been too small to beat Fury?

So likes of John Ruin, who had WBA title for 3-4 in early 2000s is "far superior" to likes of Foreman who was in his prime around '73.
If true how come a 45 year old Foreman won WBA and IBF titles in early 90s.
Povetkin is 6ft 2. Same as Holyfield who beat Bowe, and more than hung with giants like Lewis and Valuev.
I'm not a big Tyson fan, but are we saying he wouldn't beat Wad.... or <gulps> Fury

Yes I do, you have to be so extremely good skilled to beat someone with a 14 inch reach advantage, it's nearly impossible.
Even Mayweather got an advantage in reach above Tyson.

Oh, come on, Ruiz only had 7 opponends that were actually known by wikipedia in his first 40 matches and lost most of them. You can't really consider that as a top contender. Even David Haye, with his paper wins won against him. WBA winners just usually look for a lot of bums to fight, so they can keep their belt. They aren't actually good. Ruiz is just another example of that.
He might have had a chance against the previous generation, but not in modern.
