A friend of mine years ago, got really hammered and got in a ridiculous argument with some girl in the street, she started attacking him, and in the heat of the moment, he belted her, he had to settle out of court with her, because his lawyer advised him he would definitely lose the case, and he knew he would be instantaneously fired from his job, and rightly so.
Seems a bit unfair that one to me. Obviously he was being tit and he shouldnt have belted her but she attacked him first from your description.

He shouted "Do you know who I am?!" Seems a bit harsh sacking a fella who doesn't even know who he is.

Sky dropping him is a relief to be honest. I could never fathom why they kept him on. Iain Darke had to carry him in the commentary box for years. Inarticulate and almost completely without insight. In fact Darke seemed to have a much greater understanding of the fight unfolding before him than did the actual ex-boxer sitting beside him. Gary Mason made a more conversational, intelligent and amusing partner for Darke, and I never understood why Sky didn't make that pairing the permanent one.

From a comedy perspective, McCrory and Big Ron McIntosh would make an interesting team.

They should give us a laugh and give the job to Eubanks Snr .... Can just imagine it , snr sat there with his 3 fingers crossed and the index fingers together like a church , bottom lip resting on them , and commentating .

Thwell that was a glorious left hook ,, thrwee wiht deadly intentions ,, It was precipitated , by a switch off the foot ,, from the front to the outside followed with a twist of the heell ,, wich then because of physics , turned the knee which in turn caused the biody to turn ,,, Thiss when correctly done will result in more joyouss movement of the left arm . Which when threww with a roll of the shoulder , will enable the attacker to put the defender in an awful situation of blunt arm force about to stike him in an unsavoury manner

Thisss i learnt how to do in the tough gyms of amewica ,, where we took no prisoners ,, i then subsaquently taught this effective form of attack to my son Christifor , who has now managed to perfect it even more ..

Ohhh drats ,, he slipped that hook and countered with a right ,, Thgis movement is done by .............. which i taught my son Christofor .

Listening to the appalling standard of Malignaggi's work at the weekend I yearned for Glenn's pithy comments.

The roles in the commentary booth have now totally reversed. Adam Smith, the commentator, managed to get the odd sentence in while Paulie and Froch, the analysts, who are there to contribute the occasional insight when called upon by the commentator engaged in an epic talkathon contest. Carl displaying his wonderfully dry humour often asked the dreaded question of his co analyst "what do you think Paulie ?" then sat back no doubt grinning inwardly as half a round disappeared under Paulie's verbal onslaught.

Sheer madness.

He swore on live TV.

Eubank was in the commentary box on a big fight and basically extolled the virtues of Tyson and said he was innocent and "did not rape thith woman, he ith innothent"...cue Dempsey looking ashen faced, panic, stuttering and cut to commercial break. Ads finish, go back to the commentary box and Eubank mysteriously missing and Dempsey at great pains to point out that Eubank's views were his own and not SKY's.

I remember the Mason incident, but prior to that he was the weekly analyst and occasional commentary box guest - where he blended with Darke and brought more to the broadcast than McCrory ever could. I always felt he was underused.

I've always found it an interesting double standard, you can commentate on 2 guys punching each other, you can tell us the best ways to take the other guy out but don't you dare use a rude word while doing it

If I remember, didn't he go into some detail about how she consented and talk about how Miss Washington gave Tyson Oral Sex.

Nigel Benn, who as a paid pundit on BBC in 2001 said: "I preferred boxing when it was on ITV."

Bit too honest for the Sky package.
