Unbelievably close fight.
I was leaning towards Ruiz in the 3rd and Parker in the 5th but scored both even as too close to call.
Most of the Ruiz rounds, Parker had controlled most of it with the jabs and never did enough and Ruiz nicked it with a flurry or two
Most of the Parker rounds, Ruiz probably landed one or two heavier shots but was not active enough to claim the round

I'd struggle to make a cast iron case against anyone who disagreed with most of those rounds.

How anyone can call a fight like that a robbery is an absolute mystery to me.

Too easy to score 3 rounds even, judges are paid to have a winner for each rounds, so your even rounds are not acceptable and remember that judges only have few seconds after the end of each rounds to score it

I don't recall exactly how I scored it, but I think it was either 8-4 or 7-5 Parker.

Neither guy impressed. Ruiz is a blubberpot who'd probably be a cruiserweight if he got in good shape. Parker looked like he couldn't deal with any pressure whatsoever.

Even tho Parker scrapped in a win EVERYONE knows Ruiz fought better than he usually fights and Parker performed subpar.

A rematch is going to be another win for Parker but easier.

Don't assume you're speaking for "EVERYONE", since I accurately predicted Ruiz Jr's ability and also the close competitive nature of the Parker bout long before it took place.

The betting odds pretty much told the story of the fight.

The only reason Ruiz did better than expected was due to Parkers terrible game plan

And what was that terrible game plan that Parker had? Avoid trading with Ruiz? He was getting beat to the punch every time they traded...

So what should Parker have done to get that easy win?

Firstly, there were many very close difficult rounds to score but more importantly, I actually highlighted the fact that I was leaning toward Ruiz in the 3rd and Parker in the 5th, so it's still an incredibly difficult fight to split.

At the end of the day if a judge can't split it, he can't split it, if he arbitrarily decides to award a round that was literally down the middle just for the sake of awarding it to someone, is that a better system? And whats the likelihood another judge gives it the other way?

The point I was trying to make stands, it was a very close fight, with very close rounds, and there is no grounds for screaming robbery

Completely agree. If nobody won the round, it only makes the likelihood of a poor decision greater if you (basically) flip a coin to determine who won the round. If a person decides they must necessarily choose a winner of a round even if it was even, that is when bias is most likely to come into play.

while Ruiz is somewhat of a slugger throwing haymaker looking punches which dont look as good compared to straight punches.

Ruiz jab also was to chest of Parker which is not a scoring target
not to mention most of Ruiz punches were landing on back/side of Parkers head with the palm side of Ruiz fist and not the knuckles.

Sorry, got to call bullshit on that one. Ruiz landed plenty of his hooks and a rough looking hook that lands is just as much a scoring shot as a straight one.
In fact more so than many of Parkers punches, as many of his straight shots were jabs, those Ruiz hooks would have been classed as power punches

A good gentleman fight from both sides, but the end decision was pathetic, damn runner with crap performance... He lost it, and in my count 116-112 Ruiz (minimum 115-113 Ruiz). Unfortunatly the house wins most times....

I'd imagine Team Ruiz got the lion share of the dough[money] by accepting the fight in NZ that's their problem they lost a close decision old Bob knows the rope's............................it was a very very close fight but certainly not a robbery and yes Andy can think himself a tad unlucky not to have got the nod and i'v got to say he's a much better fighter then I thought he was if the rematch is in America both boy's not just Parker will need to lift in the rematch my money will be on Parker again in another close one

I think after 6 i had Parker winning one, possibly none by memory....I had Ruiz winning comfortably 116 112. I didnt score rounds even though.
