Surely the best active heavy weight is wilder? Who's Joshua fought? At least Wilder has beaten stivern.

Pretty poor division with Fury retired and kilt being out of action for so long. More competitive fights available though.

Haye has always avoided fighting tall heavies, with his only win against lump Valuev. Ortiz would be perfect for him, although trumps him for range, is a bit of a plodder and Haye would be in and out, without having to reach too much. Joshua and Wilder though would be a different proposition, as he had with Klitchko. He gives about 4 inches to both of them and would have a problem with getting close. He wouldn't be able to load up on either and be restricted to 1-2 combos.
I'm thinking about the psychology of those fights for Haye. He'd go into fights with Joshua and Wilder believing in his ability to win by KO, but I'm not sure if he'd carry that same confidence against Ortiz. He'd be in with a guy who could take most of his power, so he'd need to land a real peach to wobble him, and he'd have a naturally bigger, tougher man terrorising him (albeit plodding) down the stretch when he was tiring.

Basically, I don't believe that Haye can beat any of the top guys over 12, so I make everyone with a chin a potential risk. Apart from Briggs, but only because he's a three-round fighter these days. Plus, I don't feel that Haye would scare Ortiz too much, whereas I do feel that his power would intimidate Joshua and Wilder until they found themselves still upright in R3.

You think Stiverne is a good opponent?

Stiverne's looked mediocre too many times (eg. Rossy, Austin, King, Davis) for him to be regarded particulary highly. It would be one thing if he beat Wlad twice, but it's quite another thing to beat Arreola twice.

I imagine that he'll lose to Povetkin and remain a one-decent opponent wonder.

Not particularly but he's much better than anyone AJ has faced.

I still think Haye possesses one of the greatest punches in the game whilst still seemingly maintaining his cruiser speed. Ortiz would fall eventually.

You're right, Joshua in particular, has a suspect chin, but the question is can Haye land? He's never going to get on the inside, and doesn't have the range. He didn't manage to land at all vs. Klitschko, and only caught Valuev once in the whole fight. It's going to be a case of a big looping haymaker, which is generally what he opts for when fighting someone so much taller. Unfortunately the Haymaker is not particularly accurate and is very easy to counter.

Easy cupcake! I said suspect, not glass. The jury is still out, he's only been hit once in 18 fights which doesn't tell us a great deal, but we know that he was wobbled by that one punch, and has been levelled in the amateurs. At the end of the day, his chin might be irrelevant if he can protect it, which so far he has done a good job of, but he will come up against better opposition and real punchers.

People need to realise you rank people on who they have beaten, not on their potential.

Fury is number 1, but hes "retired" so we wont include him.

Wlad, now he has returned, is the default number 1 in the division. The position he held before Fury beat him.
Povetkin, now he is back, is the number 2 (Lost to Wlad, beat Charr, Takam, Peter and Wach).
The rest are battling it out for 3 on down IMO...

I think that's fair enough. I would say that the number one will be decided in April, but as of now I couldn't give it to anyone.

Shake of head, clueless. Ali was still the man even unlicensed until proven otherwise with the Frazier fight. Same situation.

^This^

To be THE man you have to beat THE man.
Wlad was that man, Fury beat him, he is now THE man.

Wlad is no.2 IMO and IF Joshua beats him in April then AJ will become number 2 in the division.
He will still have to go through Fury to call himself THE man...

Its not an argument its fact,u just said its similar to ali when he got banned he was no.1 and ppl still thought of him as no.1 but ali got his license taken off him after being champion for 2 years and defending his title against all comers across the globe, that includes a rematch with the former champ incase ppl thought it waa a fluke, has fury done that? NO. Has fury been banned for standing up for what he believed in? NO. You tell me what fury got banned for and then tell me if its similar to ali. That is a blatant insult to the greatest heavyweight this world has ever produced, comparing him to a drug addict drunk,u should hang your head in shame u muppet, you are what your name says rexob = backward boxer

Not particularly but he's much better than anyone AJ has faced.
I very much doubt that Stiverne would win against Dillian Whyte.

I don't know about that. I think he'd be evenly matched against Dillian Whyte or possibly Dominic Breazeale. Stiverne has never impressed me.

Jesus man, what is wrong with you? Why are you so damned angry all the time? It's like you're bashing your knuckles against the keyboard in a drunken rage all the time.

Suspect: (verb), Have an idea or impression of the existence, presence, or truth of (something) without certain proof.

I did not say that Joshua has a brittle chin, I said it is merely suspect. Purely speculation, open to debate, so roll up your tongue and put it back in your mouth. He was knocked down by Whyte in the amateurs. There is even rumour he was knocked out cold by Price in sparring, but considering that was rumour, I decided not to include it in the argument. Anthony Joshua has been in 18 pro-fights, of course he's going to have been caught a few times, but I'm talking about being caught flush, which has happened once. If he'd been levelled by a jab, then I'd advise him to find a different sport. But fortunately he seems to be okay to the jab.

My point is, he has been caught flush once, and this means we still know very little about his ability to absorb some serious punishment. Eventually he is going to find himself in the ring with someone that is going to connect back. Then we'll know.

Ps. Christ knows why the hell you're bring my chin into it.
