Hard to blame sexton for pulling out imo. 4 grand if he was to lose. Bearing in mind hes got things to pay off that etc. Its pitiful for a british title. These guys can get seriously hurt.
They genuinely should take a small percentage off the big pay per view fights to filter down to the lower levels. Really is a sad state of affairs.
Bit harsh on cornish for me...for all the flak he gets. He went for it against joshua. Didnt quite work out. But you ve basically got a part time fighter at that point fighting a guy thats training 3 times per day....olympic champion etc. Think he might slightly surprise a few.

Sexton is ok at domestic level.
both have been very inactive but Sexton must have the edge over Cornish whose record apart from Joshua is padded to the extreme. He hasn't recorded a decent win over anyone of note.
Sexton had a good run a while back but I think he can knock Cornish out. As for the Heavy scene ? This fight wont make much difference.
I know Cornish tried to get the commonwealth match against Dillon Carman? if the winner was able to add the commonwealth title, it wouldn't hurt. Also carries an alphabet ranking.
The Gorman v Webb one is the most interesting at domestic level. The winner of that could push on as a decent prospect.
we have more than enough guys around at the mo to make another heavyweight Prizefighter. what happened to those?

I'm not sure how this ones gonna turn out TBH, I'm not expecting a classic, best case scenario someone is KO'd, I haven't seen Sexton in years I don't think, he's been in with some good fighters but since the Price loss years ago he hasn't been in with anyone live, Ive not seen much of Cornish since the loss to Joshua but he's picked up a few 6 round decisions
I'm not sure how much Sexton has these days but if he isn't totally shot he might stop Cornish, if he is shot then Cornish should KO him
Fvck knows?

I'm hoping Cornish can make a bit of history by winning, 1st British HW champ fae Scotland
See he's left Billy Nelson though, hardly ideal

Yeah, but this fight is way below par for the British title.

Yup and I bet neither of them will be in a hurry to defend it which will be a shame with such a lively division.

Would like to think winner of Gorman v Webb would be mandatory
Or maybe Dave Allen if he can get the CW

Yeah, but this fight is way below par for the British title.
But big money could be earned if a big up and comer wanted a shot, Dubois for example, it would be at least 50k to defend against him.

At the same time the guy could be put in hospital for his troubles. 4 grand for a british heavyweight title fight is a disgrace bearing in mind the expenses they have to pay out of that.

While I agree it's hardly the level for a British title fight

Tbf its two supposedly full time fighters getting 4 grand with expenses to pay on that. Nothing short of a disgrace when we see the money getting dished out for other fights. Totally understandable sexton didnt fancy i. For all the stick cornish takes he was a part time fighter going up against joshua. Since went full time at boxing...for 4 grand he must now be thinking...its been a stupid decision...understandable why he was part time for so long.
