As a boy, I was as liberal as Tanzio. My favorite boxers were Joe Frazier and George Foreman, and my favorite baseball player was Hank Aaron.
But over the years, I saw at every fight I ever went to, the blacks ALWAYS rooted for blacks. Blacks would root for a foreign black boxer over a local white guy. Oh, I know sometimes a black TRAINER would root for his own fighter, but in general blacks supported their own, white liberal whites were color-blind. I saw my black co-workers in Canada while watching the Olympics would root for a foreign black athlete over a white athlete from our country.
Then I came to the boxing forums about 10 years ago, and I saw that the good white boxers like Wladimir Klitschko and Joe Calzaghe were constantly discredited and disparaged by black fans and by self-loathing white guys.
I also saw the boxing establishment in the USA favors black athletes over whites, Asians and Hispanics. Some examples: Kessler-Ward, Ward not needing to travel during the Super Six, Kovalev-Ward I & II, Pacquiao-Bradley, Rigo-Flores last night, and Max Kellerman and Teddy Atlas commentary.
I'm not "pro-white", but I've become somewhat "pro-not black" because I see African-Americans as being very privileged in boxing, the perfect example of this being Andre Ward. I root for the disadvantaged and the underdogs, regardless of race, and I'd love to see fair treatment for Asians, Whites, and Hispanics in boxing.
Everybody has an equal chance at victory. You're saying that because Black people that you've seen don't cheer for Asians, Whites or Hispanics they don't succeed? There's a sh*t load of Hispanic Champions in the sport at any given moment through it's history that says you're wrong.

No, don't twist my words.
I'm saying I don't support black boxers for 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT reasons:
1) because they never root for a Asian, White or Hispanic over a black boxer, even if the black boxer is from another country and the Asian/White/Hispanic boxer is from their home town
2) because they are
privileged in American sports (for example Ward's home advantage for all Super Six fights, his getting away with illegal tactics, Mayweather's judges giving him rounds for running, etc) - in other words, it's not a fair playing field.
I root for the disadvantaged guy. Pacquiao who never complains but grew up in severe poverty in the Phillipines, while Mayweather had the easy route as the nephew and son of two famous boxers and with media support from day one. Kovalev suffered hardship in Russia, Ward grew up in comfort with a affluent American father who regularly took him to the boxing gym.

Why don't you just say you don't root for black guys because you don't like black people? Is honesty such a strange concept to people that nobody just says what they really mean anymore?
I mean it's f*cked of you to feel that way, but whatever it's your life.

It's not against forum rules to prefer White fighters. It's against forum rules to drop the N bomb and stuff like that though. They haven't broken any forum rules...their comments may be in poor taste, but it doesn't break any rules.

Is it really a revelation that a lot of people like to cheer for "their own"? I thought everyone knew that was a regular occurrence, especially in a sport like boxing. You don't have to like it or agree with it to still see that it's there.

That's new news that Floyd grew up privileged. It's definitely a silver spoon when your father's in prison and you live in the ghetto. Good ole Tunney.

Now I am the example of a liberal? I suppose it depends on your perspective. Freedom2013 you are simply pathetic, liberal, conservative or whatever.
You are a sad bigot. Put on a proud face but it is nothing but a mask.

I'm lost because you are in your 50's, maybe 60's, online telling people about your plight for equal rights in boxing. Boxing isn't that much of a world issue to me. Call me crazy, but I rather see fair treatment for everyone OUTSIDE of boxing, more than anything.

This forums strange, ppl with multiple accounts. Why you fukin loser's. You's post one thing and then reply in an alternative ego disagreeing to get the ball rolling. Like if you have that much time to spend on this site why not just go on some of them creepy dating sites and lose your virginity or start taking serious amounts of poo and enjoy life you sad fuks. Crystal meths a nice gateway drug similar to cigarettes, go give it a go. I can imagine some of you's multi accounts are married with kids and a job mortgage ect, haha and this is your little escape from your boring monotonous life. But most likely yez still live with ma and da wanking to tranny porn and stalking boxrec. As for the fight. I was up for kov (big fan) but whether low blow, taking a knee whatever he was finished in my opinion from previous round. Legs gone. Wasn't gonna win. Also besides the point I think shorts are way too high, your dik is between your legs not near the belly button. Not a fan of ward the person but as a boxer he's exceptional, always figures a way to win. Name of the game. Hope he goes up.

So the guy constantly insults any fighter that is not white or is American, regardless his background, but that is OK by you?
Using "polite" carefully-phrased derogatory language against certain nationalities and also people of certain skin colour is still racism, it's just packaged in a less aggressive box.

But I'm a common man and so I cannot change the world, and neither can you.
It would be nice if the sport I enjoy the most - boxing - would have fair officiating. There wasn't much boxing on TV up here when I was growing up, or even during the 80s and 90s - maybe one or two fights a year - but during the past 12 years I have access to all I want through the internet.
I grew up seeing fair officiating in hockey, which was on TV a lot here in Canada, as well as in MLB and so I must have come to expect fair officiating in boxing too.
But perhaps I've been naive - boxing may be more fun to watch than other sports, at least for me - but many of the people who run it are much less honorable.

I don't do that, you're lying.
I've never had anything but good to say about Manny Pacquiao, Mikey Garcia, Anthony Joshua, Joe Smith, Naoya Inoue, etc. But I've noticed
you constantly insult any fighter who is not black and American, Brut. That's why you're other accounts were banned.

I've already posted evidence of your anti-American comments, which are racist and you've also admitted to being "pro not black".
You might deny the seemingly racist nature of your words, which is clearly your prerogative... I guess you will argue that you can't be accused of being racist because the stereotypical derogatory terminology wasn't used, but a rose by any other name is still a rose.
If you possess non-favourable thoughts and assumptions about particular set(s) of racial groups in general, even if you're able to cite exceptions, then you're still a racist.
By the way, you won't be able to substantiate any of these allegations against me, since you're simply articulating a version of reality that only took place in your own mind.

Just saying. I was in London on Klitschko-Joshua fight and 90% of whites including me were cheering for Joshua. You will never ever seen this, even if some american white boxer fights in New York against someone from Congo .....will all black people in arena cheering after african guy is getting KO´d? I doubt. Just like original poster wrote, black fans (and not only them) acting like it was normal stoppage and showcasing of brilliant boxing skills by Ward.

Europe is different from the US. US fans don't blindly cheer for the US guy. The usually take a smarter approach.
Americans are the worst... A lot of Americans think everything American has to be number one... Foreign fans are much more fair... You'll never see a foreign referee ignore flagrant low blows and ridiculous fouling if a North American is the victim -- unless its a Latino like Joe Cortez... He allowed John Ruiz to deliberately head butt Kirk Johnson right in the face.. And DQ'd Johnson for a borderline low blow that didn't do any damage.

@world ranked - I can only take from your post that you've never left America in your life and have lived a sheltered life.
