Now continue backing away slowly from the punch stats.

If there are no knockdowns and the punch stats have a 2-1 ratio in favor of fighter A, it's safe to say fighter A would deserve to win >95% of the time. Now go get into a fight with someone else.
The punch stats were way the fvck off the entire fight, Tony. Punch stats have always been a bogus ploy for talking heads to rationalize bullshit decisions.

Last night they were completely on tilt. They represent nothing close to reality.

2-1 for that fight did seem ridiculous. I am NOT a punch stat junkie, I don't know anyone who is frankly. If a fighter "wins" the punch stat score, which could be way off as you correctly alluded to, its just a guide anyway like getting a BP reading of 120/80. Other things could be wrong with you including 120/80 being off.

These fights are not decided based on your subjective perspective. Not one outcome is being changed because you have proclaimed injustice.

Honestly, your attitude about this subject is a microcosm of the national lack of an ability to empathize and / or negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes politically.

Really breathtaking stuff.
I can't stand our President and am greatly annoyed with the Political situation in my country. I didn't say my decision was changing any outcomes. I've seen far worse robberies than Pacquiao vs Horn and they still stand, but just because you've seen worse doesn't mean you should let one slide.

In this particular instance yes I am right, and everyone that disagrees with me is wrong. Not because I can't be wrong, but because I f*cking know Boxing and I know what happened last night.

I know what I know. I'll sing what I said. We come and we go. That's a thing that I keep in the back of my head.
It is all good, gil. Have a great evening.

- Have no idea how I came across this little gemstone now and not then, but it just so happens I'm a stickler for scoring even rounds that almost always explain the controversy which we can say is endemic on a weekly basis because of the idiocy of the 10 pt must system and lack of transparency. The overseers never seemingly graduated from 3rd grade, but that's just the smokescreen for the big player $$$ being made.

Anyway, I'm in with Gil here and gonna double the stakes in this sheeshfest. Boxrec breakdown here essential in understanding the difficulties of scoring a Horn fight because of his size, strength, and "Broken Rythm" designed use those attributes to disrupt the standard boxing stylistic choreography.

Punch Monkey stats would have to have something like a 50% margin of error to give Horn a chance, but it's the judge scores that tell the tale of this tape.

First look at the aggregate scorecard filled out by a 100 year old former miner, I mean "c'mon" as my big buddy Lyndon used to say. What stands out like a sore thumb is the 9th round where Manny batters Horn pillar to post, leaking blood from every orifice, as clear a 10-8 round according to unified scoring rules of boxing as ever existed.

Not in Australia on this shiny day, 10-9 x3. 10-8s makes this a majority draw and a considerably lesser controversy.

Post fight Horn belays the notion that Manny never got to him.

Horn parade next day where clearly after cleaning up and medical intervention, he still has two black eyes and stitched cut. Manny had two scalp cuts stitched and was otherwise unmarked.

Post fight presser where Arum is ecstatic knowing Manny has now flown his coop, but he has the rights for Horn vs Crawford where it would take Bud the same 9 rounds to batter the game Horn down.

Full fight here, and notice first round Manny knocks the Horn gumshield out, and last two rounds Horn is recalled to his corner for ye aulde loose tape repair to buy him some time from his imminent expiration.

Manny critic weighs in here: Manny Pacquiao feels he was 'set up' in Jeff Horn fight ...

Pacquiao did not attend the post-fight press conference – the first time he had not done so since his 2012 knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez – as he got stitched up after suffering a pair of cuts high on his scalp. Shortly after, he began openly criticizing both the judging and officiating.
