 he's the most frightening combination of campness and ruthlessness since Moriarty in the recent Sherlock Holmes

I do agree with Horse on this. Horse and I have disagreed over many things, but ever since this fight was first announced I was underwhelmed and disappointed.

I've heard that Frampton and Barry want to reschedule the fight as soon as possible, but in my opinion he should let it go and look toward the likes of Lee Selby (who is now free) and Oscar Valdez as his next opponent.
Biggest problem is Selby/Frampton teams don't have the money that both guys would want for that fight ?

They'd lose money staging it.

That's patently untrue. A Frampton vs Selby fight could fill the Millennium Stadium and that has a capacity of 74,500.

Even with those numbers there wouldn't be enough money left for the fighters after the McGuigain family takes their cut!
Despite Selby being champion they would want the lions share of the purse, plus cyclone would want to co promote without actually putting any money down!

I'm definitely not convinced that Selby-Frampton would sell out the Millennium. Not unless Frampton brought about 67,000 fans over.

The McGuigans take a % not a flat-rate amount. So they'll make as much as their percentage says they will make, depending on the numbers for the fight.

Well Frampton/Quigg was a 55-45 split to Frampton. Maybe they would do the same split again for the Selby fight & concede him the home advantage. Fampton's fans would travel, no problem and I'm sure the boxing public would turn out for that fight.

No way Selby-Frampton sells out the millennium.

Arena fight. O2 or MEN.
Windsor park outdoor.

Cardiff wouldn't be able to host this one. Too big for ice arena/motorpoint to small for Millenium.

Only AJ sells out the millennium in the U.K. IMO.

Don't see either selling the Millenium - Selby never really ever been a big draw despite being a champ.

Work has started on agreeing a new date for the fight.

It is not clear if the rescheduled contest will be a title eliminator and much depends on the time required for Gutierrez to fully recover from his injuries.
Why are they re-arranging this fight?

It is garbage.

Fight Selby.

Probably more chance of Warrington fighting Selby as he brings money with ticket sales - Frampton/Selby would both want way too much money - they'd lose their shirt holding that fight alone on a bill.

Still nothing on the Frampton/Cyclone rumours still doing the rounds.

Selby will take the Warrington fight any day of the week. Warrington doesn't carry power and Selby is a far skilled operator than Warrington. Selby could take the fight in the winter in Leeds then fight Frampton in Belfast.

Selby would know his value against Frampton, the gate and money in that fight would also be way higher being outdoors in Belfast and Frampton is so well known. Frampton / Selby will get made, Frampton wants a big Belfast stadium fight, Selby wants a big fight domestically.

That's next summer though as we're past time to fight at Windsor now and no other arena in Belfast holds enough people to make it viable.

Realistically both guys are going to be looking for £300k (+)

They tried for Windsor Park this summer and couldn't make it work financially so it won't be easy to pull that off.

Belfast has a weird window of doing an outdoor show, the closer to July the worse it is going to be. Early June and Middle of August are probably the only time to do one in Belfast due to politics that for once is not boxing politics.

Frampton should take the warrington fight in october. Easy fight and he needs to get out asap. Hearing strong rumours that he split with cyclone which would prob mean he will need a new trainer, manager and promoter. If this is true hope it does not get messy and stop frampton from fighting.
