miguel look very faded. there were rumors he was originally gonna fight lemieux. we wouldve seen miguel dancing even more than the loads of times he did here.

He was hand picked because they knew he would look good against a faded name fighter on the way out and it would put him over. Oldest trick in the book.

I don't think his ability to take a shot was gone. I think it was a case of people selling Sadam Ali short. He's a legitimately solid fighter. Not a world beater, but not a pushover.

Golden Boy could’ve picked any non Golden Boy fighter to send Cotto out on a high note but that doesn’t put money in their pocket. They conveniently chose one of their young lions to get some shine off a guy they could no longer make any money off of.

Crafty and shrewd if that was indeed the plan from Golden Boy which I don't at all doubt, but not what I'd call rigged. Cotto didn't just lay down for him. He still had to go out there and win the fight.

What are you complaining about? That they put Cotto in with someone who could potentially beat him. Wtf. And it was competitive, Cotto did have a chance to win. Who would you have put Cotto in with, Richard mayorga or Margarito. Stop complaining and enjoy the correct judges scorecards.

i know ali well and hes not all that. okay but deffo flattered by this. ali getting beaten up and stopped by vargas isnt a disservice to his ability.he caught cotto at the right time. cottos legs were awful and they went repeatedly

No. I read between the lines. It’s all about MONEY. They could’ve chosen anyone for the farewell fight. They conveniently choose one of their own young lions who needs a push after losing some shine. Coincidence? Hell no.

A fast, young guy is always gonna be a trouble to an older fighter talking about retirement after a long career. I wasn't surprised to see Ali giving Cotto hell early, but I was surprised to see him come back strong over the 2nd half. Cotto's bicep injury helps that make sense, but Ali seemed to get a 2nd wind also.

It seems like you started wanting to tell the story of a rigged fight around the 8th round in your RBR, and you're telling it anyway even though that didn't turn out to be what the story actually was.

They knew Cotto had 1.5 feet out the door and one of their house fighters would get shine off of it. Not rigged per se but set up to make one of their guys they can still make money off of look good. The fight itself wasn’t fixed but the set up to make future money off it was.
