I used to stay awake so much more. These days I set the alarm, go to bed around nine, wake up and watch it live, then maybe have a few more hours kip if it's a fight I'm looking forward to. If it's one I want to see but aren't that bothered about I just record and watch in the morning.
I don't know why the latter means a bit less, (I've never had the result spoiled.) Just a daft thing about wanting to watch it live.
Like some have said, I've stayed up for Mayweather fights wanting him to lose and inevitably regretted watching him stink his way to a stress-free win.
That’s so true. It just feels wrong watching a fight that you recorded even if it’s only a few hours old.
same here haha, think its coz you know at any point you could just fast forward to the result lol

Also makes it so easy to fast forward if the fight is starting slowly etc. Definitely agree on staying up/getting up for the fight if its one I really want to watch.

Though here in America I don't have the time zone difficulties that often result in me having to watch big fights in the AM Hours, I agree with you guys on that. Fights somehow just don't feel the same Live. When they're Live they still truly have that "Anything can happen" feel to 'em. After the fact, whatever can happen has happened...so it's not the same

Ricky Hatton v Pac
Lewis v rahman
I have good memories of staying up for both of those. I remember how shocking they were. Not joyful nights for me but eventful.
Lewis didn't take it seriously enough and it was an lively event.
Pacquiao's destruction job was both awe inspiring and brutal, I felt so bad for Hatton that night.

Hatton made a better fist in the MW fight but Pac was a devastating loss because of the way he was KO'd.. I remember looking at my mates in disbelief taking few seconds to really sink in that Hatton had been knocked out cold...
Lennox was another one where i struggled to accept he got KO'd at first l remember looking at Lennox on the canvas thinking yes that looks like Lennox but that can't be possible it's OK he doesn't look to buzzed hel get up in a minute...

We’ve had quite a few fights listed which took place around 10-11pm UK time. Either a lot of posters live outside the UK, or they go to bed extremely early

Exactly. What else would you be doing at 10-11pm UK time on a Saturday night.

Paul Williams - Kermit Cintron
Chad Dawson - Bernard Hopkins I
Floyd Mayweather - Victor Ortiz
Miguel Cotto - Sergio Martinez
... were the first that sprang to mind for me. Dull fights and blowouts aren't as bad to me as ones that never get a chance to get started or reach a "natural" conclusion.

I remember thinking Lewis wasn't in the best place in the run up to the fight and kind of saw it coming, but not enough to put money on it. Hatton on the other hand was a shocker at the time, brutal night for anyone.

Any Hatton fight apart from FM and generally any others (think my brain has given up with tiredness) so I don't stay up and watch in the morning
My fave fight was Maidana v Broner and I think I would have enjoyed that real time if I stayed up, I guess

Tyson v Bonecrusher Smith almost cured my insomnia, not Tysons fault but still terrible.
Agree with this partly.
It was a God awful fight & I actually fell asleep watching it.
Smith was pathetic, but Tyson wasn't much better.
A big strong & powerful guy like Smith just wanted to hold Tyson like Mike was his new girlfriend & Tyson was quite happy to oblige because he had no inside game.

Martinez v Williams. Only because I had prepped myself for a long night. Had my scorecard handy, cup of tea etc. Martinez blows him out in 2 rounds
