I am really pulling for Hurd. Lara is skilled, but he is the part of the sport I dislike. He's cautiously skilled with little to no passion. Some may find his style attractive, but I can't stand it.

Swift really isn't a fitting nickname for him. The Swift one in the ring is gonna be Lara. Hurd is a big punching stalker.

Look at Hurd in between DeGale and Truax at the press conference. There's hardly any difference. Freakishly big for 154. If he can cut off the ring and force Lara to work at a pace he's not comfortable with he could take over in the second half of the fight after some good early rounds when Lara is sharpest. Needs to work the body also. Don't get lulled into following him and looking for one big head shot.

Trout was outboxing Hurd a great deal of the way, and Lara outboxed the sh*t out of Trout. He DEFINITELY needs to be targeting the body early because Lara is definitely gonna be on the move all through the fight.

That’s a couple of times I’ve watched Hurd and thought he was limited boxing wise but seems to have the brute power to change a fight. I thought he was disappointing v Trout.

It is not fair - a natural MW facing a natural CW (at LMW). Unfortunately, I can not watch the match, but I will root for Lara (the first time in my life). I feel sorry for Cubans, all of them have been losing recently, and only Lara is still here. Go, Lara !!!!

Hurd is bigger but Lara is a much better boxer. Hurd's defense sucks, but hopefully his offense makes up for it.

About 5 hours to go and many of the books now have this bout dead even at -110 each.

Lara had been as high as a -160 choice earlier in the week, but the public is now siding with the bigger, stronger and much younger Hurd.

Not sure what he weighs on fight night but someone asked him what he walks around at in a Reddit Q&A so that might give some indication.

"I see myself moving up at some pointt, but I don't think any time soon. I walk around 175-176, when I'm not trying to maintain a certain weight. When I start 8-10 weeks out, I try to get down to at least 170.

Making weight is never a problem with me, even though I'm a tall fighter. I don't have big legs, it's just my shoulders and upper body so it looks like I'm bigger than I actually am. I never feel drained or anything.

I'll probably move up not next year bute maybe 2019."

The rest of the Q&A is here. Seems a pretty cool guy.

And of course, we hope if it goes to the cards it is going to be representative of the actual fight.
Two robberies is enough for Lara.

153
But that's his usual official weigh-in weight, right?

Yesterday Hurd was 153, so he's put on 10.6 lbs so far? And Lara is up 9.5 lbs.

Lara's extra weight seems heavy. Like he feels he'll need the weight to match Hurd's size and strength advantage.

Lara ain't going to outmuscle this guy. Or outpunch him. He needs to be quicker and slicker.

Thought IBF don't allow you to weigh more than 10 pounds on the morning of the fight? Or did Daniel Jacobs ruin that..

I saw that, but it didn't explain in the update. Maybe it was waived...I don't know.

Perhaps the official weigh-in for Hurd was closer to 154. I checked back and it said the IBF ruled that both were within the 10 LB rule. According to ESPN.

Hurd must've weighed in closer to 154. ESPN reported IBF okayed as within 10 LB gain limit.
