Specifically, how many might have seen Crawford-Horn?
At the moment, Nielsen don’t have ESPN+ viewers. It’s subscription based isn’t it? Like BOx-nation. Maybe one day, when a lot of viewers tune into a specific fight on the app, ESPN themself will happily release how many subscribers they have. It’s a shame. I wonder how many would have tuned in to Crawford/Horn had it been on regular ESPN.

Probably quite a sizeable number. I'm always harping on ESPN to promote its fighters by putting them its the regular network where they'll be seen and eventually recognized by a large segment of sports fans.

But the app is apparently more profitable, so Crawford, Lomachenko et
al will remain somewhat of a secret to casual fans.

I suspect ESPN pretty much know how many fans witnessed Crawford-Horn since they keep track of the app's subscriber base and also how many viewers signed up for the free 7 day trial.

Still waiting to see where (or if) Pacquiao-Matthysse shows up.

That fight seems to be in all sorts of financial chaos with MP promotions having missed the deadline for reserving traditional PPV.

It could end up on either the app or regular ESPN--if the fight actually comes off.

Reportedly MP Promotions is way behind in paying Mattyhsse the bulk of his $2.5 million purse.

Those Asian investors still haven't really come through, as Arum warned from the get-go.

With overdue payments to the champion and no television lined up 3 weeks from fight night, Pacquiao's promotional company sounds like a real amateur outfit.

I wanted to do it by date first. I’ve underlined the highest of each month. At the year end, i’ll likely sort it to viewership

New Entry

#55: Claressa Shields vs. Hanna Gabriels - avg: 376,000; peak: 410,000 (June 22nd on Showtime)

That made Shields-Gabriels the most-watched of the four Shields fights Showtime has televised. Shields-Gabriels also produced higher ratings than Showtime’s live airing of the Anthony Joshua-Joseph Parker heavyweight title unification fight March 31 from Cardiff, Wales.

Joshua’s win against Parker, which aired late in the afternoon on the East Coast of the United States, was watched by a peak audience of 379,000 and averaged 346,000 viewers. Showtime’s same-day replay of Joshua-Parker, which aired in prime time on the East Coast, attracted higher ratings than the live broadcast (peak: 483,000; average: 430,000).

The undefeated Shields also produced a significant spike in ratings from the two-time Olympic gold medalist’s first three appearances on Showtime.

Her previous appearance, a 10-round domination of 41-year-old Tori Nelson, drew an average audience of 320,000 on January 12 from Verona, New York. Shields’ Showtime debut, a fourth-round stoppage of Szilvia Szabados in March 2017 at MGM Grand in Detroit, averaged 241,000 viewers.

Your thoughts R-RKO, on Munguia-Smith vs Garcia-Easter ratings?

Too me it seems like Munguia-Smith had damn good numbers. Maybe word of mouth that Munguia could be boxing's next Mexican star?

Garcia-Easter was heavily hyped. Much more so than Munguia-Smith. Yet its rating seems average at best.

Of course HBO has more subscribers than SHOWTIME, so that should be factored in.

Garcia vs. Easter was higher than the Lipinets fight, but lower than Broner. But Broner is a ratings draw, that's a fact.

Garcia-Easter basically peaked less than Smith-Munguia averaged.

I do think it has to do with HBO having more subscribers, but again Munguia being a future star and all that. Smith has fought in the US before so isn't exactly a no name opponent. I think it will depend on Munguia's next opponent. We will certainly answer that question.

Also, I believe Garcia-Easter possibly did more viewers overall than HBO. Who knows how many people watched via the Showtime stream.
