What does freedom of speech have to do with anything?

Having a boxing license is a privilege not a right and they can take it away from you if you misbehave, why shouldn’t a fighter who openly admits to not training properly and drinking have his license revoked?

Alternatively some of us were concerned for the mental health of a boxer. There is no need to delete a thread because you don't agree with the content or context of it.

It's not nice but it is a talking point around current events in the sport.

Guys either an absolute tool or has serious mental health issues I personally think it’s the prior. His tweets about f**king a woman in the arse from Valentine’s Day were bizarre but the ones about dying in the ring certainly bring the sport into disrepute and he should have been suspended for them. I read them after ingle said he was going to deal with it through the gym but knew when I read the tweets there were going to be serious repercussions.

I turned it off pretty early too. However he sent a string of tweets about dying in the ring not just the one I don’t know if he mentions those in the rest of the video.

He was urging people to tune into his fight because he’s spent his training camp drunk and is likely to get killed for everyone’s entertainment and that’s what boxing fans tune in for etc.

Or what? What exactly you gonna do? You throw around these empty threats like a year 7 child and whenever someone challenges you on them, you shut up and make empty threats at someone else. So go on, for once, tell us what you’re gonna do about it? You’re a scumbag and an absolute pussy. I’ve had disagreements with people on here but you’re literally the lowest and by far the most cowardice... by a country mile

some o the crap on this thread isnay much better than booth's stuff! bringing boxing into disrepute!! ha,thats a good one...thousands of boxers , promoters, managers, and fans have been doing that for years. biggest tossers in boxing right now, the eubanks , have been saying much worse than booth, in order to promote pay per views...and theyve been handsomely rewarded for it!
Booth's made an error of judgement, thats all.same as ohara davis. Neither of these guys are evil. they are actually more honest than most. I like booths ifl stuff because it seems more accurate and honest than the usual crap , platitudes , bland statements, promotion of gangsters, outright lies ..the list goes on.
We are all fans of boxing on here, but dont lets kid ourselves, its a dirty filthy, brutal business, and theres no hiding it.
I'm a big fan of boxing tho, cos there are so many great things about the sport and there are so many great characters involved, but there have been times when ive seen ugly sides to it that made question if i was some kind of sicko ...but i always come back to it because , at its best , no other sport comes close.
Some o you guys on here want to calm doon abit. so much outrage over what people say?? issuing challenges, wanting to fight people over a statement on a forum? Is that not just as bad as booth n curtis?
Booth is entitled to say what he wants...he's no silver spoon kid, and is a decent fighter who never got the breaks. if you dont like what he says,,,,dont listen...go and listen to eddie hearn pr- all the right words-keeps the money rolling in.

Despite he's and idiot, he shouldn't be suspended for this, or well at least not in my opinion. It should be about his boxing skills and nobody should break the Muhammad Ali rule for twitter.

The problem with freedom of speech is that most people are too stupid to deserve it, that's why we have so many uppity wankers or 'activists' as they call themselves on our airwaves every day, all talking bollocks and telling us how to think.

Everyone is entitled to freedom of speech at some level, but sports stars have to be careful what they say because they are role models. There are some quite frightening people out there who try to engage with sports stars in ways that can be quite different from the normal fan.

I'm not saying this guy is a superstar and will have a great deal of boxing fans that follow him or look upto him but there will be 'some'

If someone like David Beckham for example said this kid of stuff for one thing it would be in every newspaper and every news channel in the UK. So sports stars have to be careful what they say and how they conduct themselves. I'm pretty sure when you sign a contract with any company, be it the BBBoC or Tesco there will be a policy regarding 'whats expected of you as an employee'

If an employee of Tesco is Tweeting on a night time out of works time 'Old lady slipped in isle 3 today, #mandown, hope she dies' or 'man tied is dog up outside while shopping today, pissing down with rain, hope he comes out in a wheelchair'

While is is out of works time it makes on difference he is not conducting himself as his employer would want. He would be suspended and possibly fired. (What the policy he signed told him not to do)

Ive seen it within my company. Remember when it was the ice bucket challenge a few years ago? Well a nurse, who is a professional person, signed a policy informing her of what the NHS expect of her many years ago, and have to sign it on a yearly basis (possibly no one reads it before signing). This lass innocently went on a weekend break. While away did the ice bucket challenge, nothing flash, no swear words or anything, but did it in a sexy funny way in a bikini, again nothing which what I would have thought was fireable or even suspendable. So all her friends shared it on Facebook and it soon got back to her manager. She was hauled in, not only in front of her managers manager but the board, and people who issue nurses their yearly pin.

This lass, who is a effing good nurse almost lost her job, I dare say being a damn good nurse is what held her onto it.

So even a simple 'prank' if you like was bringing her role into disrepute.

This boxer should not be permanently banned. But as im sure his policy states as such he should be suspended and brought in, in front of the men who 'employ him', the BBBoC and give a reason why he is saying these things against company policy.

In my opinion he should be treated as such for breaking policy rules, its as simple as that.

For me it's not what he said, idiots say idiotic things everyday, it's the fact he seems to have used a young mans tragic death to bring attention on himself, that's what's so twisted about this.

Well, when Mike Tyson said he wanted to eat Lewis his children in the name of Allah after he ate someone's ear off even before it wasn't much of a problem was it?
When Wilder smashed a girl up, drove around with weed, put a doll that was supposed to symbol Duhaupas on fire, even shot a doll that was supposed to symbol Szpilka, but that vid later got removed, he smashed up a troll, calling all the reasonable boxer that called him out drugs users without evidence and even with evidence that shows the opposite of it it wasn't a problem. When David Haye said he would make sure Bellew ended in hospital it wasn't a problem right? Or even when he was wearing a shirt with Klitschko his head amputated from his body it wasn't a problem right? Or if he sticks a glass in someone's face, no problem right? Or when he offers a fight to someone if that someone shows a good performance on his undercard for free and in the end fight a cruiserweight instead? And actually lose that fight?
When Chisora smashed Klitschko in his face without gloves just before the match, no problem right?

But now, all of a sudden, when this guy says that "there are some guys out there who are hoping that he will die because of boxing"... They just ban him from the sport?
Did he shout? Did he use offensive words? Was he getting personal? Was he threatening someone? Did he lie?

Nope, none of it, they appearantly just don't want him in the ring for whatever reason and this is their excuse.
