Now can the Kovalev hype train stop now?
What hype train? Guy was legit p4p #2 at one point in his career. He was still around 6-10 p4p. What hype? You don't call someone that's for real hype. Just a stupid thing to say.
The hype that he would run through everyone in the division. The hype that he wasn't hurt from Ward's headshots in the 2nd fight and it was a result of the low blows. The guy is proven to wither when his opponents starts fighting back just like what bullies do.

I don’t know how much he trains etc but I really believe he could be a lot fitter and it was this rather than Father Time.

By the way, Kovalev was winning the fight before getting stopped. He can still come back, but he'll need to start focusing more. He looked a bit tired throughout the fight. I know he fights with his hands down often, but he looked to be breathing from his mouth.

It looks like he's not training right. All credit to Alvarez, though. Alvarez is definitely an elite LHW.

Ward hit him with a peach of a low blow that stopped him. Videos are all over YouTube to see. It's like people get blind when they talk about Ward/Kovalev: II. It's sickening.

By the way, he was making a meal out of Alvarez until he got hit with a good punch. It happens when, you know, you actually fight the best in the division. Alvarez was Stevenson's mandatory for years.

A bully also doesn't consistently fight all the best contenders. He fought everyone Stevenson should've. Guy should be praised not put down. He was a hell of a champion.

What does Ward have to do with Kovalev getting caught clean with a beauty of a punch? Ward only beat him controversially. Kovalev finally lost without the controversy.

Naw he's done. Everyone knows he's a 4 round fighter like Zab Judah who can dish it but can't take punishment.

Then he blames his flaws on Jackson. That's his problem.

Kov was in control of that fight right up until what was the perfect right hand, he got up from it ( a little too soon) and then took a hook to the right then one to the left side of his head, enough to discombobulate anyone.
Sure he is on the slide, but he was winning that fight an taking control. He was not slowing down, he got caught, badly, and Alverez knew how to step back then finish him

Exactly, hype. He was also hurt by head shots in the 2nd Ward fight but ya'll Kovafanboys are too blinded by the hype to admit this.

Ward stole his aura. Showed a vulnerability in his fitness - a gaping hole.

Biggest problem with Kovalev in simple street terms:

He thinks he's the sh*t

He's not the sh*t

Ward proved it to all the sane boxing fans

Alvarez confirmed it to the rest

Because he never fought Chickenson, we will never know if he was or not. Too late now.

Khan was winning both the Garcia and Alvarez fights too.
Has nothing to do with Kovalev being shot. It's just everyone knows how to beat Kovalev by standing up to him and tiring him out.

Lol mexiboxs comments are not indicative of the all or at least mine...he was a great and entertaining fighter. No one was hyping him ridiculously post the two ward fights. You said a silly comment you’ll just have to wear it.

:TU:

It's mainly his fans but it seems they're still in denial of how weak he gets when someone puts leather to him.

Of course they were. Ward had him on queen street in the 2nd fight and you had fans still yelling that it was all low blows and Ward couldn't bust a grape.

tbh i hardly noticed any hype after the ward fights, i actually started multiple threads on it because i found the drop off so stark, he may have been hyped up but no way was there much hype post ward

this ikstfo guy sounds like kov hurt him personally or something, hes gone on about it before

Yep. Fair call mate.
I just don't like all this talk about him slowing down in that fight, if anything he was stepping it up from R5 onwards after a cautious first few rounds.

How about not because your comment is idiotic. Khan wasn't beating up and looking to stop Canelo and Garcia, though. WTF are you on.

Kovalev was still hurt by headshots in that last round with Ward. This fight just proves that he can't take a punch. Alvarez isn't Bivol or Stevenson.
