It wouldn’t. Camp Eddie has been brilliant selling AJ over here, he can’t do it over there. Fwank had Michael Jackson, Adidas, MSG, “here on business” for a 9 st Yorkshire Yemeni, #levels.
I’m not sure what a show in New York 20 years ago has to do with this?! Fr@nk was the top UK promoter back then but was also very well supported by HBO. They spent over $1m on marketing and the show did well but it wasn’t PPV in the US.

If AJ fought on a Matchroom show in the US then I’ve no doubt it would sell well.

Hatton wasn’t necessarily super popular with US fans (as is seen is Mayweather’s PPV figures against Hatton and other fighters) but he was able to bring c.25,000 fans over which meant he could command a decent % split plus UK PPV income.

Joshua has already crossed over into the general sporting public arena. All these supposed casuals that you mock are buying tickets and the ppv shows on sky.
Your slate dirk but your desperation to try and prove Joshua is a nobody is bordering on comical.
As for Fury not being bothered, even you don't believe that, he has had many issues that thankfully he looks to have got over for now.

Exactly. Hearn criticises Wilder's team for not sending a contract but was happy to tell everyone first about his offer without sending a contract.

exactly what was put to him in that second interview.
Its seems pretty simple to me.
Wilder and his team wants to know if Joshua accepts $50million up front and 50% of anything over and above $100million.
Hearn refused to answer...

None of them want this fight, I do wonder if McCracken doesn't fancy it and that's why Hearn is playing silly bollox, I know he wasn't pleased when the Klit fight was made so early which is understandable.

Wilder must want it deep down. $2.5million to fight someone as dangerous as Ortiz or $12.5million to face AJ doesn't make sense not to want it. It would take 2 years and 5 fight camps to earn what AJ brings to the table for one fight...

A grilling? Really?

He points out exactly why this is ludicrous. It's surely pretty standard to ask about the details of a fight. Where, when, on which channel. The fact no contract seems to have been prepared, (and surely if Wilder's team were genuine this would be presented by them), means all we have is 'fifty million, sign now, we'll talk details later.'

It's only people in the UK who are really that bothered about this fight. Wilder is probably better known here than he is the States purely because of the links with Joshua.

I don't think either are scared to be fair. I do however think a guy who's team presents a contract saying '24 hours to sign, no further details' isn't really being serious.

Hearn started the process with a 12.5 mill flat fee which was ridiculous and he knows that. Capping Wilder at 12.5 mill was a joke offer. He then lied about the fight only doing 40/50 million which idiots have bought into. Haymon and Shelly Finkel were doing big deals when Hearn was in nappies.

funny because the ppl who laugh that the fght would do about 40-50m and believe the fght does over 100m+ go pretty much silent on actually using relevant numbers when ppl request relevant numbers to show how the fght gets there

and sayng rght now the fght does 1m+ on us ppv shows total delusion on the usa scene. aj and wlder combined last fght barely averaged over that combined on us non-ppv tv. nether ever been on us ppv and aj never even fought there

btw wlad was about as much of a usa draw as wlder is not to menton way way bgger in europe....but somehow wilder is bringng over 50m more to the pot? lmao.

a wilder fght has never even had a total pot over 2.6m

Hearn made an offer way, way beyond what Wilder has ever earned. That's a starting point. You may think the offer makes no sense to Wilder but you can't realistically compare it with '50m, take or leave, no other details, nothing else on the contract.'

Hearn has stated Haymon is a smart guy who can make the fight happen. What Finkel did years ago is meaningless. The game has moved on. It's the same argument people make about Warren being top dog cos Naz was big two decades ago. And?

Exactly. Floyd Hatton didn't do 1m in the US. Hatton had fought there several times, Floyd was way bigger than Wilder, Hatton was coming off a high profile win over Castillo in Vegas and Floyd was coming off the Oscar fight which was huge.

If that doesn't do a million what suggests Wilder Joshua will? People need to get their heads out of the sand. Heavyweight boxing isn't dying; it's selling out Wembley, Wlad was selling out arenas in Germany recently and so on. But it's not in good shape in the States and Wilder is proof of that.

You can't come in with a shambles of an offer and then take the moral high ground. The flat 12.5 million offer is what set this all off. Offering a flat 12.5 mill fee was downright criminal. Hearn is fooling Brits but noone else. He has had to spend the entire week now in america responding to the counter offer and getting called out on his comical 12.5 mill flat fee. I think Joshua and Wilder want the fight. The only one standing in the way at this point is Hearn.

I wouldn't put my name on it!

I'm beginning to think that Wilder wants it more than Joshua, but he's highly aware of how the arse'd fall out of his career should he lose, so he's holding out for a really nice offer. Whereas from Joshua's side, it feels like they're trying to leverage every in-fight advantage more than quibbling over the money (Wlad-style). It's a stalemate until one of 'em concedes.

Possible workarounds might include paying Wilder half if he agrees to fight in the UK, or if he accepts a lower split then it happens in the US. As Hearn, I'd approach with 60:40 at Wembley/O2, with a rematch clause for the same venue at 75:25 if Joshua wins, else 65:35 at the venue of Wilder's choosing should he win. Start with that and negotiate from there.

Wilder might then agree to the first so long as the latter figures are changed to 70:30, and off we go.

I think it'll pan out like the Parker negotiations. The reality is that everyone in heavyweight boxing knows Joshua is the payday and everything else is just scraps. As you say, Wilder loses (and last time he was seconds away) and the fight is toast. Imagine if he fights Breazeale and loses. He'll be back to making a few hundred grand and Joshua will be fighting Povetkin, then possibly Breazeale again, then possibly Fury.

I know you can obviously say what if Joshua loses in the interim. Doesn't matter. Joshua could get hit by a bus tomorrow and the money fight no longer exists. For Wilder to get a 10m+ payday it's Joshua or nothing.

If Wilder loses it leaves Joshua a clear path to Fury, and I'm sure Hearn'd be delighted with that. Likewise, Fury'd love them to knock each other out in turns before he has to face either.

5'11" Frazier would've fought them all at the drop of a hat, especially his own! This is so frustrating as a fan, but I understand why nobody's in a rush to see their career ruined, and that's something that we are a part of the blame for. Well, not us here, but most of AJ's fans are fair-weather.

Still, fingers crossed for summer/autumn.
