I just get the feeling that Duran being the significantly MEANER human being would go all out more to win a fight on the streets. I don't think he'd be above poking eyes, and kicking throats if need be.
But if SRL was fighting for his life and health, don't you think he'd get mean too? I'd favor Duran because of demeanor and background though.
Oh yeah I'm sure he would. I just think Duran would get meaner.
Duran would've slaughtered a lot of bigger guys, not just SRL. He was born in the streets and fought his way to the top. Classic story. And remember, you can take the kid out of the street, but you cannot take the street out of the kid.

YES!!!!
Duran was a great inside fighter which would help him in a street fight. But who could wrestle, gouge, or kick better, who knows?
I would also guess Duran, but a lot of unanswered questions here.

Yeah he came pretty close to that in the ring against Ken Buchanan

Some of the suggestions really got my attention. Smith v Witherspoon, realistically the one that didn't go the expected way is the ring fight. I'd expect a motivated, fit Witherspoon to win that 99/100. Street fight? I don't think Smith would be a pushover in a street fight though.
Taylor v JCC, seriously only difference I see is it doesn't have a disputed ending. Taylor may have the background to suggest decent on the streets but Chavez has not just the background but he was tough, dirty, vicious and if anything their fight sort of hinted at where it would have got taken in a street fight.
Other one that got my attention was someone going against Chris Eubank Sr in a street fight. I wouldn't bet against him and I can't stand the guy. Seriously he was very strong, tough, quite capable of being a dirty scumbag and has/had a nasty mentality. And just look at his background he had a seriously rough upbringing and with that voice going to live in NY at age 16 does anyone's seriously think he wasn't tried out by people. Anyone know any stories of anyone ever getting the better of him? Nope me neither. Like I say most people don't like him but I'd honestly never underestimate him in a fight.

i thought he was privately-educated?

'Chris Eubank jr wants to be the first 'posh world champion'..... attended Brighton College between 1996 and 2005 (private) which was voted 'school of the year' for the UK once.
IE he has not had a seriously rough upbringing.

Here's a question for ya;
If Andre Ward was to be in an opera, which one would it be?
That would be Wagner's " Punch low and grin" or "Lohengrin" for short
A Wagner opera used as a pun on a boxing forum? Now I’ve seen everything

Could definitely see Meldrick whipping Julio in a streetfight. From N. PHILLY. And Julio would find that out real quick. And a couple of blocks down from that, Joe would be whupping Muhammad's ass.

I believe both Golota-Bowe fights would have been KO wins for Golota under street fighting rules..

Mayweather - McGregor
McGregor in any/every possible matchup that doesn't operate solely from boxing rules
Also, Mike Tyson would've been very difficult in the streets. Very, very difficult. His center of gravity was so low. He could pretty much bulldoze into larger guys, and with his stronger trunk, either ground and pound them or smother them until he could land his looping shots/uppercuts

Golovkin vs young 160 pounders Hopkins or RJJ - I think GGG with his wrestling skills would do a job on them.
Broner vs Maidana - no brainer lol
Froch vs Ward - I'd still pick Ward
Chisora vs Whyte - tough one ?
Wilder vs Chisora or Whyte ?
Charlie Z vs Elie Sekbach - Charlie would retain his title

wtf are you on about? of course mcgregor beats him in a street fight, mcgregor is way more complete of a fighter and has all sorts of tools mayweather has never dealt with. mcgregor has spent years training and competing to deal with more then punches with big boxing gloves
you should watch mcgregor doing mma sparring with a boxing world title challenger named something hyland, it shows how mcgregor, even though a striker in mma, has grappling and all sorts of mma skills way beyond the level of ppl with only striking background
you could be right about maidana, but not a chance on mcgregor
Gary Hyland.
It's a good natured sparring session and neither is going hard, but McGregor establishes early on that he can take Hyland down with ease and at will. He's also only able to get back to his feet because McGregor lets him back to his feet.
By the end McGregor has Hyland so worried about takedowns that even when they are on the feet Hyland is unwilling to throw hands.

I always felt that Carlos Monzon, with his mean streak, would be the guy I'd least like to meet in a street fight.

the most dangerous in a street fight would probably be a bigger guy with mma experience. a guy like jeremy williams couldve probably beat up a lot of top hws for example
i remember he judo slammed lennox lewis in sparring or something

Possibly, but Alex Ramos and James Shuler might have taken him.
