I think that a lot of the criticism is because the man is telling people he doesn’t need a warm up fight to beat Wilder or Joshua as they are easy nights work.
If he had said ‘I’ve been out for a while and I’ll work my way back into things’ I think people would be more accepting.
Exactly this. I have no issue with any come back fight walkover, unless the come backer has spent the past two years bad mouthing everyone else and claiming they could knock them both out the same night.

I remember Paul Smith having a 4 round fight on a matchroom card against a journeyman after some time out of the ring. Nobody said anything. Why is fury expected to fight a top ten opponent?
It's not as if he stays in shape and was training the whole time he was out
But Paul Smith is universally adored by forum dwellers.

I genuinely don't get the hate for his opponent.
Fury hasn't fought in a few years and still getting into fighting shape. This is a knockover job and then he moves on to better fighters.
I'm just pleased he's fighting full stop as a year ago, hell six months ago it didn't look likely.
Agreed
He had 2 years out and became the size of a barrage balloon. It's to be expected he comes back against an easy opponent.
Most fighters after a big lay off do.
Come on guys. This is Fury, the self proclaimed beat everyone heavyweight champion of the world!
Sugar Ray did way more coke on his years off, and who did he fight first time back??
Fury is a softc*ck with more mouth than balls. If he says he is the best, and can beat the best then nut up or shut up.

Can't you fellows just head to a favorite pub and catch the fight?
Back in the 90s I was such a regular customer at certain PPV bars, that they just waved me in with no cover.
I'm sure that more than a few of you have similar stroke.
Then you wouldn't have to worry about allegedly not televising the sure-to-be-quick scrap.
This will only be on in pubs up North. Nowhere will show this in London .

I have no idea why he needs to fight at this level. 2 to 3 year layoff or not, the opposition should be better. Fury is a massive heavyweight, this guy is a beefed up cruiser who lost to Charr.
Fury milking it, just like he said he would. Matchroom failed to sign Fury, partly because they refused his request to schedule fights with this level of oponent. I have to give Matchroom rezpect for standing their ground on that.

That's what they say. Wouldn't trust a word out of them. Also FW is known for paying more than them in general with some exceptions of course

I remember Saunders saying years ago he would rather get paid a week late by FW than get paid half as much on time. Times may have changed he'd though an if you've got a big mouth an can do the whole WWE build up you have a good chance of getting Ppv money with MR

Considerable difference in terms of opposition though.
Whilst the likes of Ali, (and for that matter Leonard, and Mayweather), may have talked big during their time out of the sport, they at least came back against a decent standard of opposition in the respective shapes of Quarry, Hagler and Marquez. Fury is coming back to fight the second best Albanian cruiserweight money can buy.

Fury loves to talk. To boast. That's his shtick.
What's the harm? He claims he can beat all the heavyweight champs, but he never said that his first comeback opponent was going to be one of them.

Maybe if you asked them in some nice little boozer they might whack it on for you I suppose. I was more basing this on Mickey saying that they were already advertising that they were showing it pub windows up his way. I get about town and I've seen nothing of the sort down here. If Fury was fighting somebody good then that might drum up a bit of a buzz but obviously this is a dreadful match up.
I'm happy to be proved wrong,

Is anywhere much of a fight city when it comes to the second best cruiserweight in Albania?

I understand that Tirana, Albania's capital, is so jazzed about this fight, it's shutting down for 24 hours.
If Seferi wins, he's god there.

What are you talking about? How's it the same? Ali came back and fought Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena and Frazier. 10% of Oscar is better than 100% of Safari or whatever you call him
