Re: Warrington must fight Galahad next

They would need roughly 80000 buys to cover the purse for the main event, coupled with Warrington's usually strong ticket sales I imagine they should make at least some profit.maverick23 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2019, 02:44 So FW offered $1.67m for the fight whilst Hearn offered $1.44m.
Both strong offers. Split was 65-35 so Galahad is getting $585k which is a right result for him!
Based on the bid I think it will end up on PPV unfortunately. Unless it’s a super stacked card I can see it doing poorly. Would surprise me if it did 100k buys in the U.K.
Fight will be on regular BT for it’s subscribers. Frank said unless something big happens, it will stay on regular BT.keirw wrote: ↑06 Feb 2019, 18:20They would need roughly 80000 buys to cover the purse for the main event, coupled with Warrington's usually strong ticket sales I imagine they should make at least some profit.maverick23 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2019, 02:44 So FW offered $1.67m for the fight whilst Hearn offered $1.44m.

I’m sure BT are coughing up the purses anyway. Will be good enough for them and bring them some genuine views.
That is good news for us, as the fight was never truly PPV.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑06 Feb 2019, 19:40Fight will be on regular BT for it’s subscribers. the fact selby is stepping up 2 divisions shows how much he was weight drained. skill wise...selby is no better than Galahad, and Selby is slick.rd350lc wrote: ↑06 Feb 2019, 17:10Most people including me thought Selby had better boxing skills and we know how that one turned out .rhino222 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2019, 16:46 to me, this is a very good fight, its by no means an easy defence. warrington will not be fitter than galahad, he will not have better boxing skills than galahad. its a good good match up. galahad is much avoided because of his skills and his style. he is one awkward mofo, can bang a bit and has some 'spite' in there. the inglegym will be going into this one 100% sure their man can win.
Galahad is an absolute fitness machine, the fittest in the gym......for many yearsCounter-puncher wrote: ↑07 Feb 2019, 12:00I'd say your case for either of those assertions is unproven at best, at this stage
r u in the ingle gym?rhino222 wrote: ↑07 Feb 2019, 13:32Galahad is an absolute fitness machine, the fittest in the gym......for many yearsCounter-puncher wrote: ↑07 Feb 2019, 12:00I'd say your case for either of those assertions is unproven at best, at this stage
and in terms of boxing skills......warrington is relentless, but not awkward nor evasive.
gosh no, im just a fan. i do go and watch some sparring there sometimes. always nice to be allowed.jamamb wrote: ↑07 Feb 2019, 16:50r u in the ingle gym?rhino222 wrote: ↑07 Feb 2019, 13:32Galahad is an absolute fitness machine, the fittest in the gym......for many yearsCounter-puncher wrote: ↑07 Feb 2019, 12:00I'd say your case for either of those assertions is unproven at best, at this stage

well, we await his substantiation of that in a fight at world level,rhino222 wrote: ↑07 Feb 2019, 13:32Galahad is an absolute fitness machine, the fittest in the gym......for many yearsCounter-puncher wrote: ↑07 Feb 2019, 12:00I'd say your case for either of those assertions is unproven at best, at this stage
dont forget Galahad is unbeaten. an unbeaten fighter does not have a level as he has not been tested at the very very highest level. personally i think warrington is a good fighter but not a great one. he beat weight drained selby and beat frampton who you could argue was boxing above his best weight class and has a lot of miles on the clock.Fitzy901 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2019, 06:34 How can Galahad seriously be considered on the same level as Selby?
Look at the opposing fighters resumes? Galahad boxed at the same level from 2011-2017 and his best win is against Jazza Dickens way back in 2013.
Selby has beaten world level fighters and held a belt for three years.
It's the eye test.Fitzy901 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2019, 06:34 How can Galahad seriously be considered on the same level as Selby?
