The Matchroom boss then claimed that this bout would be followed-up with ‘The Bronze Bomber’ making another voluntary defence against Adam Kownacki at the beginning of 2020, which would delay the Fury rematch by another six months or so (assuming Eddie's claisms are true).
Tyson Fury has just corroborated Eddie Hearn’s claims, saying that Wilder had already signed a three-fight deal to face Breazeale, Ortiz and Kownacki before the Gypsy King had signed his network deal with ESPN. There rematch was never on the table.
So Wilder never had any intentions to face Joshua or Fury in the short-term..

AJ wins possibly by stoppage. Wilder is very linear and literally does the same thing over and over.
The fight will be more boring than most hoped for

Eddie Hearn told the world that Wilder was facing Ortiz immediately after the Breazeale fight more than a month ago. He was right.
You might not want the claims of Fury and Hearn to be true, but at this point in time it appears they’re both pretty much spot to on.
