Of the two I prefer Hughie , he conducts himself well out of the ring and I believe people talk about him less because there is no sideshow .
People also talk about him less because he's a far inferior fighter to Tyson and lost in totally boring negative displays in both his high level fights
I think Hughie would give Tyson fits if they were to ever fight. Styles make fights etc

Mind you, it wouldn’t be much of an actual ‘fight’ if it were to happen!

Every round would be Hughie doing nothing and Tyson doing a bit more. Hughie has shown little ability to actually win rounds vs good fighters,, he is too focused simply on making the other guy miss. Tyson has delivered at the highest levels though and he is also much bigger and hits harder. Couldn't possibly imagine Tyson losing 9 rounds to Kuby Pulev.

Me neither but Hughies style would give Tyson trouble.
I agree it’d be a case if Tyson doing ever so slightly more than Hughie, in most rounds. Chuck in some showboating which for quite a lot of people seems to mean ‘dominating a fight’ and Tyson would certainly get the win. Just wouldn’t be as clear cut as their respective positions within heavyweight boxing would suggest.

I could also see Pulev winning a few rounds v Tyson. He’s got a very decent jab, which is something Tyson hasn’t faced for a few years at least! It’s actually a fight I wouldn’t mind seeing.

I like the timing of this fight for Fury. I’m predicting A gritty points win, and he’ll pick some new fans long the way.

..all things considered I'm predicting a close Hughie win on scorecards hoping though he'll be KOed in the process..

I fear it will be the complete opposite and he fight like he did against Parker which was outside of punching range and showing zero aggression.

Quite simply he needs to let the right hand go tonight and throw to the body. He has the chance to make a statement tonight against a name but faded fighter.

Hughie is actually a decent body puncher he didn't once attack the body against Parker.

But he can't throw single shots, PoV is a destructive counter puncher, he has to put them together.

I know that's why I fear he will run around out of punching range like he did against Parker. Could be a horrible fight.

Fury on a close points decision seems the obvious bet against an over the hill Povetkin. Find it really strange that Hughie hasn't developed as a fighter. Still just throws the jab and arced right hand.

If Povetkin is still able to put the pressure on for most of a 12 round fight then surely it's going to be a similar outcome to the Pulev result.

Awful fight lucky the main event made up for it. Hughie is close to becoming a gatekeeper. It was a strange signing from Matchroom in the first place. Allen vs Fury would be an ideal undercard fight on a sky sports bill.

Fury is a mile ahead of Allen. A better fight for Allen would be against Sexton

Hughie is basically an elite level sparring partner who can’t snap out of it. There have been plenty similar guys (esp heavies where you really can get properly hurt) over the years, gym fighters. He neither has the power, or the primal inclination to let it all hang out when he’s losing a fight, it’s just not in his programming now.

Anyone mooting a fight with Dave Allan needs a cold shower though. Allan’s a British level sparring partner!

Let's put a halt to talk of Hughie Fury v Dave Allen straight away ! Allen is nowhere near Fury's level and Hughie would box circles around him. Utterly pointless match.

Fury doubts his durability in world class, it's as clear as crystal. He may still develop that deficiency because he's still young enough.

that's the big problem.

both pulev & pov knew what to expect after a few rds.

back to domestic class for hughie.

Ya, and that jab has to be one of the least accurate around. It's like he only intends to hit air and annoy the guy with it, not actually land.

Easier said than done but I think he should stay mobile, but plant his feet to throw 3's and 4's and then move again, single shots and right hands aren't enough.

Doesn't matter if he doesn't land them all, but he just has to throw more shots.

I don't think he should stand in front of the guy and get in the trenches.

Stick to what he is good at.

Fury is never going to improve, he just hasn't got the fire in his belly needed at top level.

Hughie doesn't have the power to trouble any of the top guys, so the only way he can beat them is by outworking them, yet he's never really come in looking in great shape. Maybe he needs to eat more uncastrated boars,

He doesn't throw enough punches and his only decent punch is a jab. His defense skills are good enough

You could say Tyson doesn't have the power to trouble the top guys but he can box their heads off

I agree, but Tyson has a lot more skill and uses his size advantages very well.

Tyson holds his feet, makes them miss while standing in front of them, while he isn't always an aggressive fighter, he doesn't get on his bike. Too often Hughie doesn't hit and move, he just moves!

Yeah even the excavated Peter was avoiding it without any problems. Still think he could outwork Povetkin in a snore-fest. But it all depends on what Povetkin's got left.
