GGG edged it out, also due to that 1st round KD. Everytime it gets scary witnessing his adamantium-made chin, other than his hooks. However, crazy props to Derevyachenko, jabbing like crazy, always getting back and showing great workrate. Old-school middleweight classic.

Golovkin after the fight: “I want to say thank you so much to my opponent,” said Golovkin. “This was a great job. I respect his team. I told you, he’s a very tough guy. This is huge experience for me. Right now, I understand I need more. Focus is boxing. This was a tough fight. I need a little bit more. I need to still get stronger in my camp. Just more serious. I need to work hard. I need a little bit more focus."

Felt Golovkin just edged the fight, the knockdown helped. However he looked tired and hurt to the body throughout. Round 10 was a huge round for Dev. He landed more and was more effective than any opponent I have seen in with G. Round 10 was huge everything Golovkin landed Dev fired back in abundance. I thought Golovkin was on the verge of being stopped. However, it was just one round and rounds are scored separately. Golovkin showed his true heart and come back capturing the 11th. The 12th was tightly contested. If I was to decide, Golovkin shaded it.

114-113 and 115-112 twice for Golokvin, in a fight that many will say that Derevyanchenko may have won. Personally, I had it 115-112 for Golovkin, but he looks very vulnerable at this stage of his career.

Derevyanchenko's 230 landed total punches and 183 landed power punches were the most by a GGG opponent in 25 of his fights tracked by CompuBox.

Accumulation type fighters are bad news for older boxers imo.

Great fight, love being wrong underestimating a fighter like that.

That liver shot in the 5th by Sergiy is about the cleanest it gets without a knockdown. GGG is one tough sob. Also, looked to me Sergiy landed more significant blows through the course of a couple rounds than Canelo could in 24.

It was impossible for me to score the fight last night (stream kept freezing) and it's not easy to score the next day on Youtube either, another hard, hard fight for the ageing GGG, and given that he needed two trips to the scales to make the weight I can't see GGG's new reign at middle lasting for long one way or another.

Agreeing with the rest.

Close fight, a really good one and yeah, GGG had to work for it. Kudos to both him and Derevyanchenko. Im gonna rewatch that scrap later.

Derev was robbed. He was landing more significant punches all the night.

i thought derev would make it a itsy bitsy clearer, easier.

but yeah nothing easy in there with ggg.

derev shook him visibly couple of times but golovkin is hard as nails.

without the cut & the slip knockdown i guess they still wouldn't have given it to him.

premeditated result.

no explaining an UD 3 points up for golovkin

otherwise. tough, close fight by 2 tough world class middleweights. could've been a draw, 114-113 derev, 113-114 ggg... that's one round. just a close good fight, i thought derev edged it.
