To think Barry and his family would rinse Frampton but ‘done a good job’ for Taylor. Boggles the mind some of the posts on here. Loyalty 🤣🤣🤣 mans fighting for his own future not the McGuigans.

Not sure if that's a good move. He needed a backer for sure, but I was thinking Eddie would have made some kind of deal with Barry like he has done for Hayemaker.

Taylor vs Prograis 2 in the states has the sounds of Frampton vs Santa Cruz 2. I think he needs to establish his UK profile first.

Barry said in court that cyclone promotions was dissolved? The courtcase centering around him leaving Frampton with a 500k tax bill. So how can he promote Taylor?

But is it actually the same company? Like Sports Network/ FW Promotions/Queensbury

It's Cyclone Promotions UK Ltd which was stated to be dissolved.
However Barry and the wife are being personally sued too.

From Taylor;

“I wanted to stay respectfully silent about my relationship with Cyclone but given they have released a statement, it is only proper that I respond.”

“While I acknowledge and appreciate the role that Cyclone has played in my career to date, three weeks ago I terminated my promotional agreement with Cyclone as a result of various breaches of contract including, in particular, breaches relating to a conflict of interest on the part of the promoter,”

And;

“That allowed me to search for a new promoter, which I have found in Top Rank. I wanted to part ways amicably and without resorting to court proceedings [and] I thought and hoped the McGuigans would feel the same way given the litigation they are involved in with other fighters.
Taylor isn't exactly Johnnie fuckin Cochran so it's clear he's being well advised in his replies here. He obviously wasn't happy with his agreement with Cyclone and how they were handling him so he's taken legal advice and moved on. I hope he's in the right and he's gonna be ok moving forward. He's my favourite fighter and the only fighter just now that i will lose sleep when he's about to fight so from a selfish point of view i hope it all works out! At least it looks as if it's in the hands of the lawyers... Not that that's anything to celebrate
I got that too Stuart, it reeks of "spin".
Which is reassuring actually. It means he is speaking via legal advisement.
As for the change in trainer, I'm all for it. Nothing against McGoogie, I just think Josh could do with learning more. With money, and Bob, I'm hoping he will find a top team to bring something new.
Let's face it, he has made hard work of everyone past and including Postol. I think he can do better, and needs to in the future.

I know a couple of guys who trained with Terry and really love him; watching him there I wasn’t that impressed. Pads don’t make the trainer or the boxer however. I’d like to see Taylor work with someone who can take him to the next level. Who that is, these days, I don’t know.

Interesting that Arum seems so keen on snagging up U.K. guys of late. Just a few, but they've been big signings.

I don't think he cares about Hearn. He has the financial muscle of Disney Corp behind him, he can take his pick of signings i think.

I've heard that Barry made Taylor to stay in student accommodation before his big fight.

Our nostalgia for boxing is just that -nostalgia. Boxers are in it to make money and if a title comes along then that's a bonus. Just look at how devalued the British title is. I used to think the Lonsdale belt was every British boxers dream - how naiive am I?
Taylor and the rest are right to try to get the most out of their careers but I have 2 comments to make.
Firstly , if he has a contract with Cyclone then this MUST be honoured. If there is an underhand deal for his new promoters to pay any compensation to the aggrieved party then this is just deceitful.
Secondly, his recent conviction and his departure from McGuigan suggests to me Taylor is not the man I thought he was.
But, is he caring what I think ?
Does this move means he becomes a PPV fighter in the USA. Ken Buchanan did the same back in the day and after he was beaten by Duran, he was lost to his home fans and reduced to fighting Jim Watt in a sporting club.
If Taylor has a couple of losses in America he'll be ditched without a second thought.

Didn't mention anything about Mcguigans probably due to legal reasons.

Oh dear, is this going to create a terrible mess?

This is one thing that killed Barry’s potentially great career, contract disputes etc before fighting away.

Hope Taylor has the maturity to continue doing great work in the ring.

Funny looking back at the Frampton v Quigg threads where people defended the clear conflict of interest at the centre of McGuigan and his family acting as manager and promoter.

There’s fucki ng acts in America that prevent it from happening over there and yet here it’s always been open season for this.

Taylor v Prograis was close. I thought Taylor won but had it been in The US it may have been different. Never been easy for our fighters over there, Look at McGuigan.

I'm surprised so many fighters or guys in the business are coming out and publicly slaughtered the McGuigan's before any judgment has been made, at first it was only Frampton's mates from Belfast like Barnes, Conlan and McKenna etc but seen Sunny Edwards have a pop yesterday as well as a few others who aren't involved with Frampton ans since Taylor left a few others have had a pop as well

Strange as McGuigan has always been fairly respected in the game but it seems everyones convinced he has been robbing Frampton without knowing the facts

For the record I reckon he's been making a fortune off Frampton but was it robbing or was it that Frampton signed a poor contract that benefited the McGuigan family??

I suppose the truth will come out in the wash when the case starts

I don't think Barry is stupid, I'm sure he got Frampton to sign the contracts.
Doesn't make it right though.

Sunny Edwards shares a gym with Lee McGregor so I guess that's where it came from

It's fornicating sad barry was my hero and to see him rinse Frampton wasn't nice it's was cruel and unesssassary there was enough money to be made on both sides I don't know but cyclone seem to be the new fish eyes was Joshs intention to always leave for America as soon as an opportunity popped up and Arum with Top Rank who is getting friendly with Matchroom USA and Dazn was just too good to turn down just hope he gets out enough and not rot like PBC fighters it's a shame that once again the Mcguigans are on the wrong end and Barry was a fighter that's why it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth fighters will be weary of signing anything with cyclone or sign to them PERIOD.
