I think everyone's missing the obviously here. It's probably the Fury insult that did it. If they didn't act fast and Fury was furious, then they'd lose MTK sponsorship and channel would be fvcked

To be fair though, in my day we had Timmy Mallett. And Jimmy Savile.keirw wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 21:34100% true, so many online 'joirnalist' care less about reporting facts and more about shouting their mouths off and being as controversial as possible.Muttley wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 06:36 Never heard of him but this is a perfect example of why I left the sport and journalism in general a while ago . No disrespect to those boxing/sports writers/journos but this is what happens when untrained 'journalists' are let loose with a camera and a dictation phone. Of course I know the profession has changed and I changed with it. But in my day we had to go to college/University and work our way up on the local papers and radio stations. We were trained properly and respected boundaries but that does not happen nowadays.
That said I trained and worked with some excellent young sports journalists over the years and am very proud of them so there are some really good young and talented people in the profession as well. I just wish boxing promoters PR companies would vet people properly
Youtube has lowered standards across the board, though.
My kids used to watch cartoons, they were crap, but at least they had some sort of story element to them and often had underline messages about helping others or working as a team.
Now they watch videos of grown adults acting like kids. It makes my skin crawl.

Unfortunately there is a large element who would agree with Fowlers incoherent twaddle, and this IFL kid.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑05 Feb 2020, 07:59 https://twitter.com/DavidMCov92/status/ ... 05/photo/1

I actually saw Goldridge the first time when his Burnley video went viral on twitter. Watched a few of his best bits, he's clearly acting to bring in the views.
You don't really need to go uni to get into journalism if going down the Youtube route, it's just about being entertaining and bringing in the views. Hearn carries IFL tv for the last 2 years.

Kids got to be so careful growing up in today's world. Social media can come back and hurt you years down the line. Glad I missed it early doors
Re: Umar IFL Umar
Just let it blow over it will be yesterday's news in April, people will be talking about something else then. Sure he can come back for the DDD - Joyce fight. Kugan will only get rid of him if his sponsors all go.

Umar can just avoid going to Liverpool. FW and Hennessy have avoided going there for years
In fact i don't think Hennessy has ever promoted a show in Liverpool

A rarity indeed for Twitter.
Re: Umar IFL Umar
I’d agree with you - problem for him is the Scousers are offended at everything and as soon as you say anything about them they go hunting in packs.
He’s entitled to his opinion about Liverpool fans just the same way Anthony Fowler is about Muslims - doesn’t mean either are right but it’s his opinion (also when he was 16)
What one of us wouldn’t have said or done something stupid at 16.
To me it seems a bit of a witch hunt because Liverpool fans don’t like anyone daring to question them - they have short memories about Heysel.

Do some research before you open your uneducated mouth, liverpool hold a memorial every year and have a banner on the clubs website which reads "in memoria e Amicizia"3132DW wrote: ↑05 Feb 2020, 18:00I’d agree with you - problem for him is the Scousers are offended at everything and as soon as you say anything about them they go hunting in packs.
