Yeah - he was clearly big lightweight but for me he was simply outboxed. Also he hasn’t looked anywhere near as a destructive puncher at light welterweight compared to lightweight - wonder if he’ll be able to put a dent in Vazquez.

Kinda like when Cheese went up against Sergio Garcia for the EBU. He was completely outclassed.

It wasn’t even considered a step up at the time though - Patera was beat by Masher Dodd (albeit I had the fight very close).

Garcia is a really good fighter and Ted was pushed too quickly in to it.

Ashfaq is a very skilled operator, massively experienced in the ams and lives the sport.

Yeh. This bout it an English belt eliminator.

I do want him to start being pushed a little more now. Move on from English. He doesn’t need to fight anyone with losing records.

Yeah, Ritson looked as though he was starting to believe his own hype and tried to go through Patera like he had his previous opponents.
Patera was a bit too savvy and managed to avoid taking too much punishment early, slowed Ritson down with bodyshots and took over in the second half of the fight.

Cheese looked mediocre against Garcia, he was just walking onto punches trying to land his own shots. He does look to be boxing a bit more In recent fights though, so maybe he did learn something from the defeat.

Already sick of this Joe Laws fella and I’ve never seen him fight.

Ward KO/TKO is the bet of the year. Been as high as 5/1 this week but still 11/4 available. He’s absolutely levels about Essomba.

He's a level (or two) better than Essomba - as you say - and looks a weight div (or two) bigger.
Hopefully that will count a lot more than the 29(4) stat.

Caught my first look at Marc Leach just a few nights ago on an old Steve Wood show on Sky ch.192 - stopping Louis Norman in two rounds two years ago. He looks a good boxer with good footwork. Reminded me a bit of Andrew Selby. Could be an interesting contest although I fear it could be an untidy one.
