Re: Dub vs Joyce updated poll

Jennings is a proven competitor with no doubt, but at the current stage of his career, it will be no surprise, if he loses to Gorman,
Based on what?! German has never even remotely operated on the level that Jennings has, and I highly doubt that Gorman would last 12 rounds with Joyce either.
Gosh you lads must be trolling! I didn't bite with "Gorman might beat Jennings" but "Gorman is the same level as Hughie" is equally daft. Hughie is a dreary fighter to watch but has been in with 3 top ten fighters and arguably was unlucky not to get the win against Parker. He's much better and fought MUCH better opposition than Gorman.Nondescript wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 03:52Based on what?! Gorman is more akin to a Hughie Fury type. A lot of hype but falls short every time he's put in there with a decent operator.
Gorman isn't as good a Hughie, but has a similar style and I can also see his career going a similar route. Albeit at a slightly lower level.Cyclops wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 04:36Gosh you lads must be trolling! Majorly based on Jennings declining more and more.Nondescript wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 03:52Based on what?! German has never even remotely operated on the level that Jennings has, and I highly doubt that Gorman would last 12 rounds with Joyce either.

To be fair I wasnt actually saying he was as good as Hughie ha, just that Gorman if he was ever to compete on the world stage (which even that would be questionable) he'd be more likely to be akin to a hughie Fury type level rather than anything else.Cyclops wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 04:36Gosh you lads must be trolling! Even with his decline though, what evidence have you seen that Gorman would be able to beat him? Gorman has won an area title at this stage in his career. Jennings was winning on points against Rivas before he got stopped in the 12th and he gave Joyce a tough test aswell. I highly doubt that Gorman would even be competitive against either Rivas or Joyce.DrDuke wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 08:55Majorly based on Jennings declining more and more.Nondescript wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 03:52Based on what?! I think Hughie would knock Nathan out. I wouldn't care to watch the fight again, but he definitely hurt Pulev, who is miles above NG.keirw wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 04:41Gorman isn't as good a Hughie, but has a similar style and I can also see his career going a similar route. Basically, I would pick Gorman, if he fights Jennings right now, just because it's a case, when I feel, that a prospect is decent and fresh enough to handle a declining figher.Nondescript wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 16:05Even with his decline though, what evidence have you seen that Gorman would be able to beat him? Parker did enough to win in the Hughie bout. Povetkin defeated Hughie much more handily. As well as Pulev. Neither Chisora, nor Hughie did a lot against Pulev, those two bouts were near shotouts.mickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2020, 05:24 Hughie deserved a draw against Parker, was well in the fight up until round 8 against Povetkin! Also did better than Del against Pulev, with one eye!
I thought a few more right hands and he won. A few more seconds for Parker against Whyte and he’s won. He couldn’t see against Pulev and still rocked him.DrDuke wrote: ↑02 Sep 2020, 05:31Parker did enough to win in the Hughie bout. Povetkin defeated Hughie much more handily. As well as Pulev.
