Eubank jr has boxed better opposition since their fight too IMO, and for my money the DeGale and Yildrim wins compare favourably against Saunders' wins. Additionally Eubank jnr isn't a pick pocket performer putting the audiences fast asleep.
Agreed. And Eubank jr was also coming on strong at the end against Saunders. A 15 round fight would have been very interesting.

Also Eubank, whilst he isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, is crude and isn’t an elite world-beater, has progressed (at least mentally) since the BJS fight and perhaps his recent tutelage under Roy Jones might assist Eubank.

I think Eubank and Liam Williams would be a good little fight.

I wouldn't have thought so.

I thought it was a fair decision for Saunders, but equally if Eubank jnr had got the nod I think that would have been ok too.

The rounds are fairly clear 1-6 for Saunders. 7-11 for eubank. 12 for Saunders for a 7-5 Saunders win.

Thats what I remember. I could be wrong as I haven't watched the fight in quite a long time. Eubank was the bully in there and the guy you'd rather have been. Boxing is scored on a round by round basis however.

but why was that more of a risk for chris as he was a dangerous fighter, facing the champ , he was alaways going to be able to come again if he lost ,not just because of his name but his style is exciting, where bill wins and people question how good chris really is. i agree chris has fought better fighters after but isnt that due to fighters thinking they can beat him.

I don't get question how good BJS is, but have just gone right off of him and his career is spiralling downwards IMO.

In terms of just pure win or lose, IMO Saunders had the better experience by some distance going into the fight with Eubank jnr and that proved crucial in a very close points decision.

It is a shame seeing talent like he's got going to waste.

His style of boxing has got a lot less enjoyable too and I doubt a lot of fans don't even bother to tune in now.

James Tennyson and Zach Parker added to undercard

James Tennyson takes on Josh O'Reilly with Zach Parker versus Cesar Nunez on the Billy Joe Saunders vs Martin Murray bill on December 4, live on Sky Sports.

James Tennyson and Zach Parker have been added to the undercard for the WBO super-middleweight title showdown between Billy Joe Saunders and Martin Murray.

Tennyson faces Josh O'Reilly in an eliminator for the WBA lightweight belt, while Parker takes on Cesar Nunez for the WBO international super-middleweight title on the Saunders-Murray bill on Friday December 4, live on Sky Sports.

After stopping Gavin Gwynne at Fight Camp, Belfast's Tennyson hopes to stake his claim for a big-name bout with an emphatic win over Canadian O'Reilly.

"I've been grafting away with Eddie for over three years now and it has been an incredible journey, and while I've collected British, Commonwealth and European titles, I feel I'm only getting warmed up," said Tennyson.

"I want the full deck so I am continuously prepared to go deep until I get the world title.

"Josh O'Reilly is undefeated and a great test for me, he is ranked eight with the WBA and is their North American champion. I am No 10 and the WBA international champion, so we both have a lot to gain and it is a great achievement for us both to get this far.

"While it is pretty amazing to be out twice this year in big fights given the current climate we are living in, I'm getting pretty fed up with hearing these American's names being thrown about as the next big thing.

"I would take Yuriorkis Gamboa out in a few rounds and after the O'Reilly eliminator, I want to be headlining bills."

Derby's Parker is the WBO mandatory challenger to Saunders and intends to warm up for a world title fight by defeating Spaniard Nunez in style.

"I'm here and I'm ready to go again," said Parker. "Everyone knows I'm in the game to win world titles and fight on big shows.

"I'm ranked by the WBO as Billy Joe Saunders' mandatory, he knows who I am, and I'm coming for him.

"It is my dream to bring a world title back to Derby and I've worked really hard with my team to get into a place where we're not far from a shot at that."

Yes people forget that it is definitely argued that the "domestic level at best" John Ryder has beaten the UK's two top Super Middleweights. But that fight taught Saunders a lot.

BJS career so far has been underwhelming. He needs to get the Andrade or Golovkin fight ASAP to cash in on his talent.

I'd be doubtful of either of those fights actually taking place.

I should imagine Saunders will steer clear of Andrade and Golovkin probably wont entertain chasing a 'runner' around the ring.

He will get rid of the Canadian. Tennyson looks a level above.
Padded record for O’Reilly.

Just hope Murray has enough to pressure Bill and make him work. Be a dishwater dull fight otherwise.

Even Billy's good friend Tyan Booth is saying this is a BS fight. Billy needs to step up and fight real opponents.

This fight is pure dross, Murray's 5th world title crack, is that level with Rocky Juarez? He long missed the boat, dragged out of retirement for another crack, in saying that id love to see him pull it off, it would be a grear story and i detest Saunders the person, is a skilled boxer but is another one who looks like he's missed the boat, certainly to have a chance at elite level, he's looked sluggish at Super Middleweight, rocked by Isufi and behind against Coceres last time out before finding the finish

This should be a snoozer with Saunders winning a wide uninspiring decision
