Wow, Ref was in there suppper quick, cant say i can remember a 1 punch standing stoppage. Im not against it, reminded me a bit (opisite sides of the size spectrum) of when price got knocked by povetkin, Wish the ref could of stopped that one in time cause he was knocked standing then got absolutely flattened.
Thought it was a superb stoppage - not many refs woulda even seen that, let alone acted so decisively.
Tanaka was GONE.

i agree, it was great. but geeze in quick, not to quick in this instance, looked like the guy was on very wobbly legs for at least 20 seconds after . but still just shocked how quick he went in, you do see those ones where someone wobbles and comes good 1 second latter, would of been bad if he stepped in and Tanaka was walking and talking fine strait away. But i guess refs 2 feet away, so probably has a good read.

Holy cow that is the coolest replay I’ve ever seen. Ioka literally taunts Tanaka to bring it after Tanka lands a power jab. Tanaka throws a 1-2 and lands the right hand then gets slammed by a whipping left hook as he is too slow to put his right hand back up while following up with a left hook of his own. Incredible.

What a great usage of a left hook by Ioka.

funny stoppage, cause it seems at first like the ref jumps in way way too fast (how does he even see that fast that tanaka is done), but then you can really see after that that tanaka is super wobbly and hurt for a while after

it;s not that japanese have small cocks, it's just that their giants balls make them look small by comparison

Michiaki Someya was mentioned in a few Asian Boxing articles about bouts and had been praised consistently
In an article about Yoshimitsu Kimura vs Shuma Nakazato
"5-The officials all got it right!
It's rare for us to legitimately feel all the officials got it right but here they did. That included Michiaki Someya, who didn't wave the bout off when Kimura went down hard at the end of round 4, he didn't interject himself very often, and instead he allowed the bout to breath. He gave the men their space and they went to work. The three judges also got it right. All three had the score 75-75 and it's hard to argue with that. It's rare that we get to say all the officials got it right but they did. Fingers crossed this begins to happen more often ."
In one about Kazuki Nakajima Vs Kenta Nomura
"5-Michiaki Someya is a referee that is in the right place at the right time
We've mentioned Michiaki Someya in one of these before and we do so again here as he once again showed his ring positioning is brilliant, and he's where he needs to be, when he needs to be there. This wasn't a tough bout for him but we can't ignore that he was consistently doing what he had to, was in the perfect place for the stoppage and made things crystal clear. He's not a big name referee but he is certainly a very good one, and from his showings on this card he's one we'll be keeping a close on here following two solid performances on this show."
In one about Katsuki Mori Vs Yuki Uchida
"4-Japanese referees continue to keep things simple
Whilst this wasn't a hard bout for an official, and one where he was rarely needed. However if you concentrate on Michiaki Someya, the referee for the bout, he was doing a lot of little things that were very notable. He was always maintaining a good distance from the action a good view of the two men, he, for the most part, remained out of camera shot and let the action go on the inside when he had to. Once again we can't help but be impressed by how well Japanese referees are letting the action flow."

He was definitely out but you couldn’t tell on the broadcast until the delayed reaction set in. I think the two earlier knockdowns probably played a role. Ref figures at that point Tanaka is in a fight he can’t win and taking a lot of punishment.

Ioka held a legit P4P talent like Tanka to less than 18% landed.
Is he the best 115 pounder?

Sounds about right. So, the stoppage was good.
