Hey, fair play to the kid, he gave it a go.
Good advice from Ricky there. He's still young enough to get his mojo back and it sounds like he has had a tough time of it personally - but yes, you cannot play at boxing full stop and Connor especially couldn't afford another defeat.

Good decision and if he does every decide to return - I wish him well, the surname was definitely a blessing and a curse for Connor.

I’m pretty certain he’ll come back. Only 24. Could do a double header with his dad… I mean has this guy ever got a job?

A lot of these 'sons' I'm guessing box to please their dad's. Not a lot have a better career than their fathers.

Im glad he's taken a look and knows how far he could have gone.

Campbell signs for Misfits Boxing as he announces emotional retirement U-turn

Campbell Hatton has signed with Misfits Boxing and will make a huge comeback to boxing.

The son of late boxing legend and British icon Ricky announced his retirement from the sport in 2025 at the age of 24.

He wanted to pursue a career elsewhere, with his father confirming the news.

Sadly his iconic dad passed away in September last year in tragic circumstances.

In honour of his father, the younger Hatton announced he would return in an exhibition card alongside Kell Brook, with the proceeds going to the Ricky Hatton foundation.

But now 'The Hurricane' has astonishingly announced a full return, which will come under influencer promotion Misfits Boxing.

The news was announced as he stepped in the ring just moments before the clash between Tommy Fury and Eddie Hall in his home city.

He said after his shock new move was announced: “It’s all about doing [Ricky] proud.

Buzzing. Can’t wait to get things going again.”

It is an emotional return for Campbell, who will of course do his father proud as he always did.

He will be hoping to reverse his form after back-to-back losses against James Flint before he initially retired.

Who could Hatton fight in his return?

Astonishingly, it could be big-name opposition immediately for the 25-year-old.

In the ring, it was suggested that the son of Prince Naseem Hamed, Sami, could well be his first opponent.

The younger Hamed has made his debut for Misfits Boxing already, beating Zachary Johnson in 2025.

It was his second appearance in the ring after he fought professionally against Jesse Clarke in Dublin, and has a record of 2-0.

On the potential clash, he added: "I’d love it straight away.

“For me it makes sense, two massive boxing names, two big boxing families, why not.”

Perhaps don't watch it?

After all the kid has been through I hope this gives him something to focus on.
Good luck to the lad.

Don't patronise me, and please be assured I have no intention of watching it.

Naturally he has my sympathy for the loss of his father, but that doesn't change the fact that Hatton vs Hamed is a ridiculous prospect.

Nowt wrong with being a solid area level or British level fighter.

If that's what he wants to do I say let him. We have to remove expectations that he could achieve even a fraction of what his dad did as that's unfair to the lad.

I'm old school not into these novelty fights but boxing is a horrible game; it chews you up and spits you out only the very few come out smelling of roses and that's usually only the odd promoter. Even many champions who earned well, do suffer with their health later in life.

Even though I won't be watching the novelty fights, I won't begrudge a young man making some coin. We all know he's living off his dad's name but he's not going off like he's the next coming so good luck to him.

Hope he earns well - it will be interesting how it plays out. If he is aligned to this youtuber / celebrity / viral guys he will have to go seriously easy on them.

So it will be interesting how he is promoted in the future - way to good for these youtubers, is he good enough for the "real" boxers - is there a market under the misfits company for a "real boxer" that is of low level.

Of course, he could perhaps always fight much bigger youtubers in like a catch weight contest to make it a bit more even.

I can imagine that after a couple of wins Misfits will probably sign up James Flint and setup the trilogy.
He made great money when he was boxing too it was published for one year and he was up there in terms of domestic earnings. What I do like about him is he’s not created a character like Benn or Eubank. He never said he was guna be X or Y.
