Trainers in the cupboard! I think it's cool to see a boxer with proper oldman furniture who doesn't care.

Fair play to Okolie. I can't say I was a fan before, but after that how can you not be impressed. He levelled a proven world level fighter in the division.

Will now watch with interest.

Disagree with Bellew on the Askin fight, Okolie was lucky not to have more points taken off there and maybe even DQd.

:OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes:

As of now, Okolie can win in the same way against Briedis... the trickies one, IMO, is Makabu.

I can't see any of the cruiser weights champs fighting him unless Eddie hands out the big cash.

Joshua should be employing him as chief sparring for the Fury fight.

Briedis is likely going to fight Mariusz Wach at HW. I doubt that he will use the elbow punch this time :OhYes:

Makabu didn't looked great in his last fights against Cieślak and especially Durodola, he is much smaller and he got a suspect chin. He can knock Okolie out but the chances of landing such a punch aren't high against in this case.

I was disappointed in the pole tonight thought he would have put a better performance in, in the corner between rounds he just looked like he didn’t want to be there.

Well done Okolie, got the job done and joins the British world champ list, not many can say that.

Okolie improved a lot and his new style is much better to watch as well.

I agree that he is, most likely, the best CW at the moment.

His last fight was vs Briedis, the last ''normal'' fight was vs Vlasov in 2018. He is and 34 and was inactive for such a long time. But I have expected more as well, allegedly he looked great during the camp & in sparrings.

We've been saying he looks poor but effective since his 3rd fight tho. A few fights down the line and he's ironing out the European champ and Glowacki within an 18 month (or so) period.

Okolie would ice Makabu, Briedis is a harder matchup because Briedis has good timing and can use that somewhat to counter the reach difference. he also has a way better chin than makabu and can punch a bit himself obviously

Briedis is the most likely to defeat Okolie, maybe Cieślak or Tishchenko could do that as well but I wouldn't favour them.

I particularly liked the tie ups on the waist. Outfit probably cost him a grand.

I switched last night's card off not far into the Cordina bout, having fast forwarded through the female fights and having a cursory watch of Fowler and Billam-Smith.
I just can't stand Sky's domestic boxing coverage any more. They've assembled the most tedious cast of Hearn nut-huggers on punditry, Adam Smith is a havering buffoon and the quality of the cards are abysmal.

Just watched it on mute to spare the agony of listening to Adam partridge gushing over the fabulousness of it all, although caught his obligatory fawning over two of the greatest heavies of all time WAR chisora and Whyte ( great guy !! ) both destined to be involved in sky’s PPV for the next 20 years ( when everyone else has moved onto DAZN god willing )

Nice shot but house ref Marcus almost dislocated his shoulder in his eagerness to wave it off for Eddie’s boy.

Same here, I got a few rounds into the Cordina fight and went to bed. Won a bit of money on Fowler, who happened to be in with a tomato can that was finished by a fvcking jab. The woman's fights are utterly torture. The pundits, commentary and coverage is just so, so poor. A really hard watch all round.

He's only had 3 fights, but i'd say that Kamshybek Kunkabayev is already one of the best in the division.
