The commentator said it was an eliminator for one of Joshs' belts.
Was that correct?
IBF eliminator I think mate.

Nevermind Catterall, Matias is a decent defence for Josh.

Isn’t Zepeda a mandatory also?

Dunno mate, 4 belts = 4 mandos I guess :maybe:
You watched Matias on the weekend eh? Him, Zepeda, and rematches with Regis and Jose- who needs to move up to WW :maybe:

Matias will be number 2 now in the IbF. Ritson’s fight next week is for the number 1 position and I think mandatory position. So if Ritson wins next week and Taylor vacates then it will be Ritson/Matias for the title. There’s no such thing as an easy, genuine world title anymore!

:OhYes: And I don’t think ANYONE in the division wants to stay busy with G.A. Russell.

Ah, righto. Maybe I heard the commentary wrong, or they were wrong. Definitely thought it was Taylor for the winner. Shame really. Ritson vs Taylor is only slightly more appealing than this Catterall mando fight :verysad:
Whereas Matias vs Taylor seems decent :box:

Matias would obliterate Ritson in my opinion, that fight would be all wrong for Lewis but as he's going down the IBF route it looks like he would have to face him if he gets past Ponce at the weekend. Russell looks a real problem as well, amazing hand speed and looks to carry power too. Could be some exciting fights on the way at 140.

Yeah - they may have been better off taking Ritson down the WBO route and potentially boxing Paro for a vacant belt (assuming Taylor beats Catterall and then vacates).

This fight will be happening in Nov. Then he’s out again early next year.

So by the time they fight Jack will have no profile and no form with only 2 fights in 2 1/2 years. It’s criminal how inactive he’s been and how he’s a mandatory.

He became mandatory a long time ago, since he won a gave WBO EuroInterContinental bullshît title.

Same shït with Yarde.

Jack’s just been sitting on his mandatory and waiting it out.

He really should have fought this year.

He just stepped aside for the undisputed fight.

Ok fair enough....re-write needed, but 4 months from now is a way off and who's to say it won't be moved ?

I just want this fight happening as soon as possible so Taylor can kick on as undisputed champion, assuming Catterall doesn't pull off a shock.

It would be a huge upset for me if Catterall won. He's threaded water in too many fights and built too many bad habits. His best case scenario is a close fight where he nicks it on the cards but with Taylor being the A side there is no chance he's winning this. He would need to come out a completely different fighter.

Josh needs to stop focusing on this vaccine and start knuckling down. I almost get the feeling he’s in retirement mode since winning those 4 belts.

UK cards

With its new deal with Sky Sports, Top Rank plans to put on cards more regularly in the U.K., where they will take place in prime time and in the late afternoon or early evening for the United States audience.

“We had to sign a document, all of us, that whoever won (Taylor-Ramirez) would fight Catterall,” Arum said. “It’s going to happen in November. It will be carried live on Sky and in the afternoon in the United States, and there will be a good, solid undercard with it. There’s a natural rivalry with a Scot against a Brit.

“We have it approved by ESPN and Sky, but we have to get (a venue) that fits that date, but it will be at the end of November, either the 20th or the 27th.”

Boxxer

Top Rank will be working with British promoter Boxxer on U.K.-based events to help with the logistics and undercards. Arum said a probable candidate from the Top Rank stable to appear on the show is Irish welterweight prospect Paddy Donovan (6-0, 4 KOs).

Arum said a third card that could take place in November is a potential pay-per-view fight between welterweight titleholder Terence Crawford (37-0, 28 KOs) and former two-time world titlist Shawn Porter (31-3-1, 17 KOs), who last week was ordered by the WBO to meet in a mandatory bout. Both fighters want the fight, but it is not made yet. If no deal is negotiated between Top Rank and Porter’s team at TGB Promotions and Premier Boxing Champions, it will go to a purse bid. If they make a deal, the fight could headline a joint ESPN/Fox Sports PPV.

Arum said although there had been some discussion with former unified junior welterweight titlist Jose Ramirez’s team about his return from the loss to Taylor in November, he said Ramirez (26-1, 17 KOs) probably would get moved back.

“There are only a certain number of weekends in November,” Arum said. “(So he will probably move to) December or even January.”

Yeah, he is . He seems to post things about how the vaccine shouldn't be used. He also posts things about how we should be anti vaccine due to the Government backing it, then the Government are due to take away all our civil, and human rights. A fornicating embarrassment.

Wonder if he will be anti vaccine, if he requires it to enter America for a fight ?

Lots of boxers seem to be anti-vax / Covid is a hoax etc. I’ve unfollowed a load of them on Twitter recently, I don’t particularly care what they believe but I certainly don’t follow them to hear about conspiracy theories and shit like that.
