I feel like we get a stoppage here for some reason rather than the expected boring fight.

This card is actualy good. Hope it gets babic or fisher or both. But im guessing they will use those guys to prop up the connor benn card a bit.

They’d both got lost in the shuffle on this card and they only fought 2 weeks ago so would be a fairly quick turnaround.

They may get Fisher on the Liverpool show though.

Is anyone remotely interested in this fight?

The first one was a bore, the winner is going nowhere (all the the titles will be tied up for two years +) the loser is frankly finished.

Anyone else think Parker looked a bit rough at the presser, he's aged a decade since the last fight ?

Coming up to nearly 8 years since Chisora last officially won a main event. If he loses this one he will probably have another main event box office fight against Andy Ruiz.

Does this mean all the top tier tickets are sold out, or do you reckon they never went on sale and it's only lower tier and floor seats.

A lot of tickets for £171 available. some on the floor and some decent seats in good view off the ring.

I thought so.

They probably looking to sell around 8k to 10k on lower and floor level?

It is interesting how many page numbers threads about British Matchroom shows have since the switch to dazn.

It will have a knock on effect I think at grassroots boxing eventually.

Even without the Buatsi fight I still really like the undercard but it’s a main event that no one cares about hence not needing the top tier.

Whilst I’m pleased with the shows on DAZN it also shows how not having the Sky hype machine impacts the ticket sales. FW found that when he moved to BN. Unless DAZN sort out some sort of terrestrial hype/highlights deal then I can’t see it changing.

Not just ticket sales but general interest - my whatsapp has been buzzing since Khan vs Brook and even had a few messages about Eubank vs Williams. Really that's been all since AJ vs Usyk (which was definately the most buzzing) - even Fury vs Wilder 3 didn't get a mention.

I'd pay £24.95 to see what Dereck would do if he tried

Would they even know it was on if it was on Dazn? I think the sky hype machine with the added point that Eddie all around the world promoting so cannot devote the time to the UK shows - he is equally fussed about how DAZN USA (and the USA market) as he is DAZN UK (and the UK fights). Sky certainly don't promote the top ranks shows as they do the BOXXER shows.

I have no doubt that had Parker vs Chisora 2 been on Sky PPV - if early indications were it wasn't doing well, they would have drummed up the SSN coverage etc. As it stands Dazn do not have the platform and Eddie doesn't have the time to do it justice.

As for BT - like Channel 5, they don't seem to promote their shows full stop.

Yep to Khan/Brook - that is going to do big business at the gate as long as they price right. And prob on PPV too.

In terms of the next few weekends, the only fights my casual mates were interested in was the Eubank one and Yarde, who has a good profile.

Zero chat on Chisora or even Benn.

I was considering a little bet on Chisora stopping Parker, as he had him hurt early last time and Parker didn't seem to have the pop to hurt Dereck, but seeing as Parker's in Morecambe that seems like a horrible dreary place to have a camp and Parker's really roughing it and giving himself a hard time in the build up to this one. Last fight seemed too cosy.

I write this like I'm actually bothered about it.

It's not like he's gone into a backstreet gym! He's with the heavyweight champion of the world in his custom built gym!
Paul Ingle used to run miles on Scarborough beach for years. I seriously doubt he's roughing it.

Parker has been hanging with Fury (the good one) in the Kronk gym for about 9 months doing some hard sparring.
He is now joined at the hip with the Tyson Fury entourage, like a slim Turtle from the TV series Entourage.
This all may have absolutely no bearing on how he will be when he fights Del Boy, but I fully expect it will.
He has left long time trainer and wallet drainer Kevin "the Olympic fix is in" Barry and started a new chapter.
Can't wait to see if Kronk put the dog in Joe.. we call him Joe now, because that's how hardcore a Kronk fighter is

Can see Parker winning a comfortable ud this time I’d like to see how what adjustments to his game Parker training with fury will bring , just dont see chisora winning as much as I’d love him to , like others have said the winner doesn’t move too far ahead as the titles will be tied up for a while even if chisora loses he can still have more fights whether he’ll have the hunger for it we’ll see

Next time I see my causal mates I’ll ask them if they’ve even heard of DAZN. One of them messaged on Sunday asking if I’d seen the Lopez fight and I just sent him a link to my DAZN account.

I see most of Matchroom’s hype as I follow most of the main YouTube channels (IFL, Boxing Social, SecondsOut etc.) and I think Eddie is probably doing more promotional stuff now than he was doing before when he was with Sky but it’s a massive miss having Sky Sports hyping it.

Being on the Sky Sports homepage every day in the lead up to fight, SSN, pre-promoted by the football like Adam Smith loved doing for the Netball, email reminders on PPVs, fighters on Soccer AM/League of their own, previous fights being shown on one of their many channels and now they spend time/money pushing boxing on Facebook and other social media channels.

DAZN need to find a way to promote to the masses as at the moment they’re really only promoting on social which can only get them so far.
