Very working class places. Feel and look more like Northern cities than the other south coast towns.

A lot of talent around there - Chris Billam-Smith, Michael Mckinson, Joe Pigford, Ryan Garner, Mark Chamberlain, Lewis Edmondson, Ebonie Jones, Royston Barney-Smith

I think if a Hearn or Warren or whoever put on a show there it'd sell well. But for some reason they never do.

I've no idea, but I understand you get that perception here as well. We have some crap areas, they just don't put them in the tourist brochure.

That's interesting to learn. Is there a bit more crossover between the amateurs and white collars up north these days? I remember seeing Billy at All Saints when he was turning over (nearly twenty years ago) and such things didn't exist then..

Blackpool is a good shout, Sharpstyle ABC is a top notch amateur gym there that has produced a lot of national champions, have always been impressed with their lads when have seen them out. Re: Burnley. Blackburn, Oldham, Rochdale - a lot of those old mill towns have a huge muay thai scene, lots of clubs and loads of decent fighters.

That’s a really good point about that concentration of Muay Thai gyms, it’s been the case since at least the 90s probably 80s. That lad who was a bit of a pioneer, god can’t remember his name. Had an ‘interesting’ hair cut, he was from round that way I’m sure. Rochdale rings a bell. Still can’t remember his name though

Little Hulton , mention of that place brought back some memories , used to do a lot of work on that estate in the early 80's , remember they had a great chippy there , he didled me out of my change , so i told him not gonna argue , keep it to fix the window , then went to the van , walked back with an hammer and gave the window a hard tap . , cut my nose off to spite my face really had to go elswhere for my hollans steak and kidney pie and chips

Most of Home Counties are pretty poor other than for the travellers.
These days places around Croydon which is still a London borough and in the London divs has a Surrey postcode and are producing plenty.
