Yeah, you’re absolutely spot on! :TU:

Bandog is preparing his excuses for Andrade ducking Alimkhanuly in advance of the event itself.

WBO need to come out and say clearly if you move up to duck a mandatory you dont become mandatory. Take that option off the table so we can get this fight.

I’m not so sure that Andrade will automatically be installed as the mandatory challenger for the WBO 168lbs crown if he ducks his own mandatory challenger by vacating his 160lbs title, because he doesn’t currently possess “WBO super champion” status.

The likes of Usyk, Crawford, Joshua, Pacquiao, Marquez, Canelo and Lomachenko have all held “WBO super champion” status, but their resumes are vastly superior than Andrade’s.

I’m not saying that Andrade can’t become the mandatory challenger at 168lbs without engaging in a final eliminator, because of Eddie Hearn’s influence and money, but it’s possible the WBO might refuse to grant him that status due to him not being one of their “super champions”.

I agree with what you’re saying though, the WBO shouldn’t reward Andrade if he ducks Alimkhanuly, by automatically installing him as the mandatory challenger at 168lbs, because he would have previously needlessly vacated the WBO title twice during two championship reigns, whilst only ever performing one mandatory defence throughout the entire course of him holding those belts, which isn’t good.

Andrade was stripped of his WBO 154lbs title for due to inactivity, when his team admitted to ducking Charlo and Korobov.

Boo Boo vacated his WBA 154lbs title, because he didn’t want to face Erislandy Lara.

And Demetrius will be forced to vacate his 160lbs title if he refuses to take the Alimkhanuly fight.

Finally, Andrade has ducked other fighters, even when he didn’t hold a belt (i.e. Derevyanchenko).

Andrade isn’t the Boogeyman that’s being avoided by all the marquee names.

He’s made his bed and now he constantly moans about having to lie in it!

I wholeheartedly agree, but Andrade has a proven track-record of rejecting bouts against marquee names.

If Andrade vacates, makes the jump to 168lbs and engages in another “tune-up” against a no-hoper, then he deserves to be written off and considered as a complete waste of time.
Even if Andrade's second fight at 168 would be vs Benavidez, it would be great too considering that Andrade has to acclimate at 168 first. But if he'd keep fighting stiffs then its bs.

Benevidez has a belt? If Andrade moves up, he'll become mandatory for Canelo, who will vacate no doubt. He'll then fight for the vacant title. Fighting at 160 is pointless, since the other belt holders refuse to fight him. Maybe there is someone at 168 with a pair.
Well, Janibek Alimkhanuly has a pair to fight the most ducked and avoided mw fighter ! :OhYes: :box:

Considering the circumstances BJS got his 168 wbo belt, I'd not be surprised if Andrade moves up at 168 and fight Zach Parker for the wbo 168 belt.

Yup.

The thing is, the boring, unappealing Andrade has to fight and beat a good name like Benavidez to get Canelo's attention. Canelo already beat all the smw champions, so he pretty much finished his businesses at 168. :TU:

Andrade gets a lot of hate on this forum, and I admit some is legit. Chasing Canelo for a fight is pointless. He'll never fight Andrade or Benevidez, no matter what they accomplish. Will Canelo be accused of ducking if he vacates his belt to avoid a fight? Has Charlo been accused of ducking Andrade on this forum? Hypocrisy. Canelo could have went for undisputed at 154 and 160, but refused to fight Andrade. Horrible fighter, why not?

By the way, I believe purse bids don't begin for Alimkhanuly until January 1st. Why is Andrade already being accused of a "flat out duck"? If he does move up, I wouldn't blame him, as it is a no win situation. No casual fans have even heard of him. He may still fight him, but will get no credit, and be in the same boat. Charlo, GGG, Mungiua, Murata, etc still won't unify with him. It used to be admirable for champions wanting to fight other champions. After defending his belt 5 times Andrade still isn't any closer to a unification bout.

Andrade's best wins are: Vanes Martirosyan in 2013 and Maciej Sulecki in 2019, which are good wins, especially 2013 Vanes Martirosyan but I'd have liked to see Andrade stepping up vs guys like Lara and Trout @ 154 and Chenko and Matt Korobov @160 to build up his resume. :box:

The reason Andrade will get hate is because he fights guys like quig then complains endlessly that no one good will fight him then gets a good (not great I guess) mando and dosent seem to want it.

It’s the hypocrisy of sooking your too risky for the reward, then sooking your mando is too risky for the reward.

If charlo were to duck a no name it wouldent be so grating because I have never heard him or his team complain about not bei able to get a fight (except canelo but I mean everyone from 154-200lb is playing that game)

Let's be honest here. Do you think Mall Charlo is ducking Andrade? If so, why doesn't he get the hate that Andrade is getting for "prematurely" ducking his mando? No, Charlo didn't duck a no name, he fought a no name instead of a multi-million dollar ppv fight unifying with Andrade. Give me a freaking break with the Charlo love/Andrade hate BS.

Hard to call anyone a duck in a vacuum of information. I dont know the offer's and the splits the reality of how big a draw each are.

there are no true ducks and no true boogie men, just deals that dont make sense. Charlo would fight Fury if the money was right, these guys arnt scared of losing because it hurts, there scared of losing because it effects there earning potential (and ego a bit), so they weigh up what they get paid against the risk to future pay days.

But dropping belts to avoid mandos when you have no prospect of anything better on the horizon, and your just coming off a worse fight, thats not a good look. You think your avoided with a belt... what the fornicate you going to be without one.

The thing is, if Andrade fights and wins vs Alimkhanuly, then what? Will it get him any closer to a big $ fight or unification at 160? No. If he chooses to move to 168 he automatically becomes mandatory for Canelo's belt. If Canelo vacates, it sets up a potentially big fight with Plant or Benevidez for the WBO 168 belt. I would call that a benefit of moving up. Charlo turned down a $7 million offer according to Hearn, then went on to fight Monteil? Whatever the offer was, it was easily twice what he would have gotten fighting Andrade. Charlo said he's already rich, and Andrade is a horrible fighter. That in my book is as close to a duck as I've ever seen.
