Looks like no UK shows until March so DAZn will be having some trouble now keeping subscribers with nothing decent to show
Might be good news for us. They're going to have to come up with the goods if they want people to re-subscribe.
On the other hand, there could be major issues with shows clashing.
FW has just stated he wants to do 3 big shows in March. That's before anything is announced for DAZN, Boxxer, Probellum and Hennessy.
Not sure how having no U.K. shows for 2 months could be good for us. It’s not like DAZN’s output has been bad recently - their shows over the last 5/6 weeks have been great.
Eddie may look to pivot into having more shows abroad, particularly in the US, and more of those fights involving Brits.
I think it’s stupid having any period of time where no fights and properly signed and scheduled like we’ve got now. I know covid doesn’t help but you would have thought they’d have had January shows announced a few weeks back.
I was reading it as the January shows won't be allowed because of covid and that might extent to February.
I guess it's up in the air at this point. Might be back behind closed doors at this rate.

I don't think DAZN had anything scheduled anyway for January so how do they expect people to pay to watch nothing ? Football is going on ok with capacity crowds so a bit strange to have nothing from Hearn at all in the UK at the moment booked.

Frank said yesterday that no boxing is being allowed for January so perhaps that derailed plans but even still they should have had some shows announced before now - particularly worldwide.
It is strange that boxing has seemingly stopped whilst the majority of other sports are continuing. I appreciate the need for medical attendees at the boxing but I would have thought similar provisions are needed at other sports too.

I have no problem with the likes of Fury and Joshua being on a PPV stream or channel.
The issue comes when the likes of Benn and Parker start appearing on them.
Which will inevitably happen.
“Listen… we can’t fund Parker v Ruiz II on a great monthly subscription cost… this fight needs more cos it’s huge!!”

Benn is an absolute certainty. Hearn thinks he's much bigger than he is.

Wouldn’t even pay for Benn v Crawford… I don’t think any of us would pay PPV on DAZN for that.

Hearn knows how big Benn is, we are just guessing. He gets to see all the numbers. (p.s i dont think its as big as hearn pretends).
When hearn talks up Benn he isnt just being delusional, he is doing so with purpose. Connor Benn has the potential to be a big name (although he is unlikely to be elite). Hearn is going for the stratergy of you say something enough people start to belive it, and even those that dont belive it start to think its possible.
Poltics have been doing this for decades, trump really showed off its potential, you just repeat simple statements soooo much that when people think of Benn they think "he is a bigggg name", and in boxing that self feeds, The bigger name people think you are the bigger name you become.

Anyone can check Benn's social numbers. They just do not add up to the hype job that Hearn is putting on his shoulders.

Realistically social media is Tommy's thing. Him and his Mrs both gathered most of their twits and grammies from Love Island. She was always an influencer (sic) and he is whoring himself on the gram as his main 'job'.
I wouldn't expect Benn to have that many twits anyhow, he has never said anything interesting ever, which is a prerequisite.

he just needs to start posting videos of himself twerking, he'll gain 1m on instagram quick if he does. insta is basically about dudes jerking off to sloots and poon
i dont know what exactly his popularity level is atm, although id say he gives me 'potential to explode into stardom' vibes, rather than 'already a big star' vibes, though no doubt he's got a nice profile already

It's okay, but doesn't align with the way Hearn waffles on about how his socials are 'off the scale' - Say it enough times and people start to believe it.

Gottcha
I don't follow or do social media. It just seems like such a time vacuum.
But I do get Eddie's selling it up large

More. He’ll be on £300-£400k I think. Crazy money.
I'd be shocked if Benn was getting £100,000, not as much as you think. The money is not there for these shows
Eddie wouldn’t have gone over unless he was getting large funds for the fights. They also turned down £500k plus PPV upside for Avanesyan as it wasn’t nearly enough (Conor himself said that he earns that kind of money now) whilst Eddie said they needed 3 times that and Conor needed more experience.
No chance, its all smoke and mirrors imo. If you were paying anywhere near that kind of money a channel would not last long. What get announced and what is actually paid is two different things

Why would Benn say he already gets that kind of money I.e. £500k, if he’s only getting c.20% of that and is turning down £500k plus PPV upside.
He genuinely seems to think he’d beat anyone at the moment.
I don’t disagree that’s it’s stupid money but DAZN have paid lots more for some fights/fighters in the US so have form. Mikey Garcia/Jessie Vargas springs to mind.

It’s a shame because they had such a good last 6 weeks and now they’ve literally got nothing planned. It’s a sin really and makes zero sense as other people will be cancelling too.

I’m pretty hardcore with them. Think the set up and price has been great throughout even when some on here were complaining.
Makes zero sense to pay 8 quid a month for potentially no fights in a few months.
Won’t be long before they get wise and incorporate a signing up fee.

I don’t think they’ll do that but they’ll get wise in making sure they never have a period of time where there are zero scheduled shows.

Can’t help feeling Eddie done the biggest scam ever taking 1 small part of Matchroom sport ( Boxing )over to DAZN in this mega 5 year deal . Absolutely no chance of this deal been renewed so basically Eddie will bleed every £ out of this deal then run it down then walk away from boxing back to Matchroom Sport on SKY.
