Danny Williams?
Tucker wasn't great. Lewis and Hide did much better with him.
I can't believe someone who would insist in one thread they 'know their sh1t' would in another compare the old fat drug addict Herbie Hide beat with the young peak undefeated Tucker Tyson fought. Do you have any concept of time? Age? Wear and tear?

'Lewis and Tyson were the same age when they fought' - Lewis was having only his second pro fight at the bottom of Tyson's undercard when Mike was 37-0 and king of the world. That you don't understand how certain fighters can put extra miles on the clock is illustrated here and in your hilarious attempt to sell Wlad's win over a dead Ray Mercer.

Maybe chill out on the hero worship of Tyson Fury as it's forcing you to make laughable arguments.
Yes, I have every concept of time. Lennox wasn't sat on the sofa whilst Mike was building his record. He was attending two Olympic games. The ones Mike couldn't quality for. I'd say Bowe in the final was much tougher opposition than anything Mike had faced at that time.
An amateur Riddick Bowe was better than Tyson's opponents at the time?

This is the Bowe who as a pro needed a gift against Tony Tubbs, who Tyson blew out in 2 in... 1988.

Again, your position forces you to take utterly laughable arguments. This might be one of the worst ever.

Yeah, sorry for rushing through. Tucker was a long bore fest and Thomas was broken down. I put the wrong names in.

Yeh. The current gen will be more appreciated in 10+ years.

And so on and so on.

Of course the current era is at a slight disadvantage to the 80/90s, they actually drug test them sometimes these days

Well most of the Americans were on crack. The lost generation.

I like this generation, especially the British side, it’s been deep with tough matchups.

Can you imagine Joshua-Whyte & Joyce-Dubois prospect v prospect matchups in Bruno’s day?

We never got Bruno-Hide-Mason-Akinwande risking vs each other, as prospects or contenders…

Also when did a British contender last go on a run like Whyte vs Browne, Helenius, Chisora 1 & 2, Parker & Rivas?

Bruno certainly didn’t carve his way to his big title opportunities.

And also we have rivalries. Tyson vs Wilder, 3 times. Joshua going up against the great Usyk again. I’m not complaining.

You will never win an argument when discussing past and present ,, but i think theres one thing we will all agree on ,, Bruno really has no right saying this , because Fury would off easilly handled the robot his ass

Slightly off topic. In a single 12 month period in 92/93 we had the following at heavy:-

Riddick Bowe v Evander Holyfield
Riddick Bowe v Michael Dokes
Riddick Bowe v Jesse Ferguson
Riddick Bowe v Evander Holyfield
Evander Holyfield v Alex Stewart
5 x Michael Moorer fights
6 x Tommy Morrison fights including George Foreman
Foreman v Coetzer
3 x Lennox Lewis fights including Ruddock and Bruno
Bruno v Williams
5 x Ray Mercer fights
8 x Scott Welch fights
6 x Herbie Hide fights
2 x James Oyebola fights
5 x Henry Akinwande fights
11 x David Tua fights
8 x Andrew Golota fights
12 x Danell Nicholson fights
1 x Oleg Maskaev fight
4 x Axel Schulz fights
7 x Frans Botha fights
4 x Corrie Sanders fights
5 x Bert Cooper fights
5 x Larry Holmes fights
1 x Nicolai Valuev fights
12 x Jeremy WIlliams fights
5 x Julius Francis fights
15 x John Ruiz fights
+ many more, I'm bored now.

Absolutely loads of heavyweight action from prospects to champions. What we get served up now is shyte now in comparison and if you disagree you either weren't there or you are an idiot.

Best part of 150 heavyweight fights in one year featuring people you have all heard of nearly 30 years later.

Peak Lewis v Fury would be a good match.

I can't forget seeing Bruno knockout a series of bums before coming up short against any fighter with a chin and decent stamina. I don't think Bruno rates highly in any lists and nearly lost when the title was being gifted to him against McCall when the petrol ran out

Yeah it’s the classic ‘styles make fights’. Bruno could definitely do some real damage in this era - for my money, he’s significantly better than Wilder, and I’d give Frank a real chance against Joshua. But Fury would be a truly terrible matchup for him.

I think Fury is capable of beating any heavyweight since I started watching boxing around 2000.

I agree. Coincidentally the year year started watching boxing is the year I stopped boxing and my interest waned.

Realistically, Lennox was past his best then. Vitali was too one dimensional. He has already beaten Wlad and Wilder. Joshua has been found out. Whyte, etc aren't good enough. There wasn't anybody else of note.

For me, Usyk is the only one that I think would be a pick em.

Yes. Cannot agree more. For me, at his best, no one beats him.
I know that’s a controversial statement. But I believes it.

I think a realistic issue when installing Fury at number one is the number of visits to the canvas he’s had. His chin is likely not going to stand up to all comers. You’d have to pick Lewis to definitely exploit that weakness. I’m not the biggest Vitali advocate, but he was a proper handful. 12 rounds of pressure would likely crack Fury, especially as he now comes in over weight and under trained. I think he’ll probably avoid Joyce like the plague because of that gap in fitness now.
