If Josh beats Kiko then surely his 1st defence will be Lara. Hearn has already stated that Warrington is obsessed by that loss and wants to avenge it. If Josh/Lara sold out a stadium for no belt then I can only see a genuine world-title on the line making this a lot bigger. Plus Lara would’ve been out the ring for 12 months so everything points to this making sense.

Back to Elland Road In late July imo.

Lara KO10 tho.

Lara is back out on DAZN on March 5th.

I saw that earlier. He’s in a decent fight but it unfortunately shows how boxing works in that you rarely get what you deserve. Josh gets the world title fight against Kiko and Lara gets an undercard fight for no belt.

Would it be a good first defence for Josh if he wins? I’d still like to see it again.

Eddie said it was out of the question because he wouldn't be ready due to the cut.... he's boxing before Josh....
The sport is fucked.

The sport is the same it’s always been, really good moments and really shady ones in equal measure, that’s boxing.

He's in a tough fight. I bet Eddie and Josh would be heartbroken if he got beat! Lara and Kid out of the way.

Kid galahads career could really fizzle out from here. If he moves up now its with no momentum. He's really gonna be in the "who needs him club".

Wonder if he jumps straight to lightweight, hearn could feed him straight to Haney.

:TU: He's saying now that he is moving up, and is using that as his excuse for losing to Kiko

Kid’s returning on the Wood card. It’s a quick turnaround for him - same as Harper - but I think it’s the right thing for him. Hopefully it’s a meaningful fight.

Maxi Hughes/Ryan Walsh and an Ebonie Bridges world title fight have been announced for the undercard. Not bothered by the Bridges fight but I quite like the Hughes/Walsh fight.

World title shot for Norfolk boxer Ryan Walsh

Norfolk boxer Ryan Walsh will fight for a world title in spring.

The 35-year-old, from Cromer, will challenge Maxi Hughes for his IBO world lightweight crown in Leeds on March 26.

The fight was announced on Friday afternoon and comes just weeks after Walsh’s next career move was in the balance.

The former British featherweight champion returned to the rankings in December after a victory in Norwich over Ronnie Clark – a late replacement after his original opponent pulled out. Had that fight not taken place, then it is unlikely Walsh would have got this world title shot.

“It doesn’t bear thinking about where Ryan would have been if we hadn’t plucked Ronnie Clark to fight,” said trainer Graham Everett.

"On the week of that fight we didn’t have an opponent and Ryan could easily have been off that bill.

“But we got him back, got him active, he won and was then made mandatory for the British title, which he is now, which will also be for the Commonwealth title.

“In the meantime, Team MTK and Matchroom put together the opportunity for Ryan to fight Maxi for the IBO title – and you have gone from nothing to a life changing fight.

“It is so good – and he deserves it. All that time when we were going through that period of frustration he kept in the gym, we kept working together, the opportunity came, the win came and look where we are now.

“But he is a championship fighter and when you are a Championship fighter those opportunities come.”

It's a dangerous fight for Maxi, he's been flattered by recent results.

How has he been flattered?

It’s poor form to discredit his achievements and wins afterwards. Before 3/4 wins he wasn’t really given a chance.

Skye Nicolson Second Pro Bout Confirmed For Martinez-Warrington II Card

Skye Nicolson is living up to her early career promise to make up for lost time.

On the heels of a successful pro debut earlier this month in the U.S., Nicolson will travel to jolly old England for her second pro fight. A quarterfinalist for Australia in last summer’s Tokyo Olympics, Nicolson is confirmed to appear on the undercard of a March 26 event at First Direct Arena in Leeds, England. The show is headlined by local hero Josh Warrington (30-1-1, 7KOs) in a bid to become two-time IBF featherweight titlist in a rematch with defending titleholder Kiko Martinez (43-10-2, 30KOs).

Nicolson is still working on an opponent for her bout, a six-round affair at a contracted weight of 128 pounds, one pound lighter than her March pro debut as she gradually transitions to featherweight.

“I can’t wait to make my UK debut in Leeds on March 26th,” Nicolson told BS.com. “This whole experience has been a whirlwind so far, my US debut was only less than three weeks ago.”

Nicolson (1-0, 0KOs)—a 26-year-old southpaw from Yatala, Australia—earned her first pro win in a six-round, unanimous decision over locally based Jessica Juarez (3-1,1KOs) as part of a DAZN-streamed card from Pechanga Arena in San Diego. The strong showing came as the first fight of an event was headlined by legendary former four-division titlist Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez (51-3, 41KOs), who soundly outpointed WBC flyweight titlist Julio Cesar Martinez (18-2, 14KOs; 2NC) in a non-title fight at junior bantamweight.

Earlier in the fight week, global superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (57-1-2, 39KOs) held a press conference mere miles away to formally announce his challenge of WBA light heavyweight titlist Dmitry Bivol (19-0, 11KOs) atop a May 7 DAZN Pay-Per-View event from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Nicolson was on hand for the press conference, while Alvarez was in attendance for the March 5 DAZN show.

Following the win, Nicolson confirmed to BS.com of her plans to fight at least six times in 2022 (“6-0, looking at my first world title fight, or a fight to become a contender for a world title). The ambitious goal was established after having not fought at all since her quarterfinal loss to eventual Silver medalist Karriss Artingstall (Great Britain) last July in the Tokyo Olympics.

“I am loving every moment of this journey,” admits Nicolson. “I am looking for a very active 2022 to put myself in a position to fight for the featherweight world title in early 2023.”

It’s a shame as it was meant to be a decent step up here given he had a warm up 6 weeks or so ago.
