Canelo Alvarez is picking Terence Crawford to defeat Errol Spence Jr in a potential welterweight undisputed championship fight this year.
Canelo likes the skills of Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs) and is impressed with the way he’s able to seamlessly switch from southpaw to orthodox stance without losing anything.
“I think Crawford because he goes southpaw and [orthodox],” said Canelo Alvarez to spam when asked who wins the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford fight.
“I think he’s a very difficult fighter. Just be patient and prepare myself as always and be patient,” Canelo said when asked how he would fight someone like Crawford.
“Work the body, and being patient is the key. Everybody looks to the head [of Crawford], and it’s very difficult to hit in the head that kind of fighter,” said Canelo.
“It’s a really good fight. Two great fighters. I think it’s going to be a really good fight,” said Canelo to spam about the Spence vs. Crawford clash.
“No disrespect, but I pick Crawford. I don’t think so; they so good,” said Canelo when asked if Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis is ready for Crawford and Spence. “He needs to wait, don’t be in a hurry.
“He’s [Crawford] got a lot of skills & power. He’s a smart fighter. In boxing, anything can happen; you never know, especially when two good fighters mix it up. “Three or four more,” said Canelo when asked when Boots Ennis will be ready for Crawford & Spence.
lol at that guy asking Canelo about Boots. lol Its less likely that Canelo knows who is Boots, especially that he has no notable fights/high profile.
Canelo being a prime fighter is bragging about that he's gonna stop a 40 y/o Golovkin, WTF?

Whatever happened to the days when big fights like Ali v Frazier 2 could be sorted out over a 45 minutes dinner?
2 words.
Corporate greed.
Crawford probably understands that if he loses this, he's done. This will be his last big payday.
He's literally aged himself out of a potentially more illustrious career whilst trying to claw the last potential cent out of the promoters and the paying public.
Well done.
Spence in the meantime, despite a horrific car accident, has still been the more active and amibtious fighter.
If he wins there's no reason for him not to move up in weight. As was said earlier he has a big frame and if he can carry his power up, there's everything for him to play for.
It's quite impressive how he's got so far without ever appearing to even move out of cruise control.
Crawford, a promoters nightmare, is a more awkward opponent than any he's faced so far and their fight should be more a technical challenge for Spence.

I pick Spence because of is size, strength, under-rated skills, especially body punching, wearing guys down.
Crawford is tricky, ultra skilled, and also very game. He'll have to hurt Spence early to get the upper hand, otherwise he'll get beat up and stopped like Ugas.

This is damn near a 50/50 fight. I favor Crawford, but let's not act like Spence is just another opponent.
I think a lot of people do see it as a close 50/50, but if your having to pick a winner, I think it's lopsided for Crawford.

Is Spence not just another opponent really?
If we look at the history of ww champions, who does he rank higher than?
ODLH no
FMjr no
SSM no
Zab no
Baldomir no
Crawford no
Pac no
Trinidad no
Mayorga no
Forrest maybe
Spence may be well hyped but he hasn't accomplished anything and he never will.

This possible match seems to be already outdated. I'd have more interest in seeing Spence vs Mell Charlo @ 154.

I'd have Errol above Judah and Mayorga for definite, and probably Forrest and Baldomir. I think I'd have Forrest above Mayorga to be honest irrespective of the results of the fights between the two, I can't argue with two decisive wins over Mosley.

That was a mad era of the WW division, the seemingly invincible Mosley getting duffed up in the first fight with Forrest, and soundly beaten, and then outboxed in the 2nd.
Then Forrest gets battered and outhustled by the crude Mayorga.

i got errol's chance to win at like 1/1 000 000 in this...
so yeah, pretty darn close to a real 50/50 scrap.
I can tell you're not the slightest bit logical or have any grasp of actual reality. Wow, just wow.

I think many of you are putting too much weight on Crawford's win over the shop worn, literally done Shawn Porter.
Errol beats him up, pretty much like he did Ugas. If I'm wrong I'll be surprised, but ok with it. I like both guys.
Crawford is better at everything than spence.

Exact opposite

Thank goodness for that.
I was beginning to think that the sun would die before these two agreed to fight.
A genuine 48/52 superfight.
I give Crawford the 52, but it wouldn't surprise me if Spence took care of business.
Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | PBC PPV - November 2022
Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford have agreed to all material terms for a fight for the undisputed welterweight championship, an event targeted for Nov. 19 in Las Vegas, multiple sources tell ESPN.
However, the deal has not been signed as the parties' lawyers clean up legal language in the agreement, per sources. Crawford, ESPN's No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer and top welterweight, acquiesced to all proposed financial terms from PBC creator Al Haymon, including the short end of a revenue split, sources said
The package includes a bilateral rematch clause that the loser will have the right to exercise, per source. If the rematch clause is triggered, the winner will earn the majority of revenue for the return bout, per sources.
The 147-pound summit meeting -- Spence holds the WBC, WBA and IBF titles while Crawford has the WBO belt -- will be presented as a co-promotion between Spence's Man Down Promotions and Crawford's TBC Promotions on PBC pay-per-view. High-powered attorney Jeffrey Spitz is representing the Haymon/Spence side as the contracts are being reviewed.
"I want Terence Crawford; that's the fight that I want," Spence, ESPN's No. 2 welterweight and No. 3 pound-for-pound boxer, said in April. "That's the fight everybody else wants. ... Terence, I'm coming for that belt!"
The 32-year-old from Desoto, Texas, returned from surgery to repair a detached retina to score a 10th-round TKO of Yordenis Ugas in April to capture a third belt. Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) was set to fight Manny Pacquiao in August but withdrew from the matchup because of the eye injury.
It was the second major setback of Spence's career after an October 2019 car crash hospitalized him.
"Now everybody's saying that Errol's back and he's 100 percent ready. So now is the perfect time for me and him to fight," Crawford, 34, told ESPN in April. "He called me out, so it ain't no backing up."
Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs) parted ways with his longtime promoter, Top Rank, following his November TKO victory over Shawn Porter that sent the challenger into retirement. The move paved the way for a deal; Haymon, who advises Spence, rarely does business with Top Rank. Now, Haymon is poised to deliver one of the biggest fights of this century, a coup for PBC after it was unable to retain boxing's biggest star, Canelo Alvarez, after only one fight.
"I'm free to do whatever I want," said Crawford, a three-division champion from Omaha, Nebraska. "There's nothing standing in the way from us fighting. There's no promotion company that's blocking it, there's no wrong side of the street, there's no nothing. Let's see who the best welterweight in the world is."
