We're not dealing with a boxer who sells 1000's of tickets or PPV buys, he is unknown outside of the sport and if he doesn't get himself into a meaningful fight might as well give it up

I agree but his promoter will think they’ve done well by him (and from the outside they did) so won’t release him for nothing and he’s gone so far in what he’s said that he’s unlikely to fight on a Matchroom show again.

Eddie was saying they offered him a fight on the Abu Dhabi show which he didn’t accept. Probably against a crap opponent for his contractual minimum. He may have been best off just taking it and moving on.

Okolies not the sharpest knife in the box frankly - admitted he thought his contract was up however had to be told he had one more fight to do ... can he count ?
This is the same guy a few years ago was spouting about fighting Dillian Whyte
Just stop pissin around and get in the ring with Breidis / Riakhpore / CBS etc and show us how fuuckin amazing you are .

It might be down to 258s bad advice. Joshua , okole and buatsi all fight very rarely. Could be they’re all being advised that they are worth a lot more than they actually are ??

I think it's fair for ages to find twice a year when I was heavyweight champion. It's not what I would change, but it has been away for several champions since the Tyson era. Maybe Buatsi is just waiting for the right opportunity to present itself. Okolie is duller than the paint work on a 10-year old car, so I'm glad he isn't boxing very often.

What is Buatsi doing with his career, been a pro 6 years and only had 16 fights and only one in the last 15 months.

Why isn’t he fighting Arthur or Yarde or Hosea Burton or even just keep busy fights to bring him along.

It is pretty wild. Buatsi is good, was hyped and has just stalled out. and now the title holders are both too scary for him i think.

Really should have fought Yard/callum smith/callum johnson/lyndon arthor for english/euro. all those fights could have been small card headliners or big card 2nd main fight.

Seriously whats his plan? Beter B has yard then undisputed. Bivol has canelo or rest then undisputed. Canelo wont fight him randomly for no belt.

Its hard to see him getting a great fight 2023, mabey his goal isnt a good fight or even a money fight, mabey his goal is a weak vacant title shot and he just wants to be an undefeated world champ and can then make a good living cherrypicking weak opponents main events and headlineing cards in england. not a bad carrer option honestly...

Had Buatsi competed for Ghana for example would he have achieved so much as an amateur ?

Maybe Dana White is on to something paying his guys the bare minimum, big fights just no getting made enough, it's no coincidence the little guys always fight each other, I'd rather fighters got paid a pittance and fought regularly, don't expect many to agree but I'm into competitive sport not charity work, let the managers worry about the wages, the ABCs really need to start putting pressure on promoters

it gets to the point with fighters like Okolie / Buatsi that its seems so long since I saw them in decent fights I am struggling to even remember them and who they fought ... never mind if they had any decent skill set .
Fighting once in a blue moon just isnt enough sorry boys .

Some very good questions.
Domestically it is stacked.
Plenty of options without even crossing the channel.
Maybe we don't know the whole story though. Could have a niggling injury or things outseif the ring.
Seems a shame though, I think he has potential.
