Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. - Who wins?
I like Ruiz, he gets a lot of stick as he looks out of shape but he knows his way around a ring, has fast hands, is a decent puncher and seems to take a good punch. If he beat Wilder I wouldn't be surprised.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. - Who wins?
His chin is the key. With a different ref Wilder could have had two KO victories vs Fury. We've all seen fights stopped with much less damage, while still on their feet. If Ruiz's chin holds up, he'll win. He'll hit the canvas, that's a given.

lol, you still cant get over it, wilder had 3 chances vs fury and couldnt beat him once
i guess wilder should also have a ko loss to harold sconiers, a tko loss to ortiz, and the 3rd fury fight shouldve been waved when wilder's arse was dropped in the third round

Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr. WBC heavyweight clash confirmed
Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr. is the next confirmed heavyweight title eliminator, the World Boxing Council has confirmed.
Despite Wilder offering Anthony Joshua the chance to face him next, the Briton rejected the opportunity through his promoter this week.
Joshua said he needed more time after Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel, informed World Boxing News of their intentions.

Now AJ is out of the way, and Wilder can plow on with the Ruiz fight that Premier Boxing Champions boss Al Haymon has planned for years.
Both former world champions came through their respective eliminators versus Robert Helenius and Luis Ortiz. This means their Pay Per View event, set to happen in the spring, will be for the WBC mandatory spot.
Releasing their six-monthly information regarding each division, the WBC rubberstamped that Wilder vs Ruiz will happen next.
“Champion Tyson Fury will make a voluntary defense against Dereck Chisora on December 3 in London,” said the WBC when outlining the events that transpired since their last update in the summer of 2022.
“Fury will have the option to fight a unification fight against Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed championship. The winner will be committed to fighting the WBC mandatory.
“Therefore, Andy Ruiz is to fight Deontay Wilder in a final eliminator for the mandatory position,” they added.
Its good news for fight fans as Wilder vs Ruiz is one of the most significant heavyweight fights out there. Las Vegas is favored to host.

The Ortiz one was blatant.
If this fight actually happens, I guess they're waiting for Usyk v Fury confirmation, I'd favour Ruiz to win.
With none of the top 6 (Usyk, AJ, Joyce, Fury, Wilder, Ruiz) confirming anything who knows what's really going on behind the scenes?
It's a good job Tyson Fury doesn't care for money, otherwise negotiations might get really difficult.

Fcking brilliant fight if it happens! First fight I’ve cared about for ages.

Wow! Great video. That's quite a shot!
Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
Who do you pick to win?
Re: Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
Honestly. My instinct as far as what they're bringing to the table tells me Andy would win the fight.
Wilder needs to fight Joshua before fighting Ruiz. Joshua is a bigger fight, and more beatable opponent for Wilder I think.
Ruiz is quite beatable for most, but Wilder relying on purely KO power against a guy with a solid chin, and better boxing ability could prove to be disastrous.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
It's difficult to say because Andy Ruiz has inconsistent performances. He beats Anthony Joshua by knockout and then he basically throws the title away coming in fat as a pig, then he loses a lot of weight and wins a decision over the well passed his prime Chris Arreola, and then he wins a unanimous decision over Luis Ortiz where he looked strong in the beginning but kind of faded near the end.
It's going to be interesting to see how Andy Ruiz bypasses the long reach of Wilder unless he just goes full on Jack Dempsey against Wilder straight out of the gate throwing all caution to the wind. He certainly has the hand speed and the power to get Wilder in a world of trouble but Wilder has demonstrated in the Tyson Fury fights of having a lot of heart and toughness himself so it's really going to come down to who gets tired first.
Wilder is ever dangerous with his right hand no matter how badly beat up his so it could be a possibility that Andy Ruiz beats the dog crap out of him only to get caught with a punch. Or it could be that Ruiz tries to come on in and gets caught with something real early. I can't really see Andy Ruiz giving Wilder a boxing lesson like Tyson Fury did in the first fight.
I would hope that Andy could win because I would like to see him get a shot at the Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk winner, but I have this bad feeling that the match will either end up with him losing by stoppage or the fight would end in a draw that way were either stuck with Wilder potentially having a fourth fight with Tyson Fury or we're going to see a bit more gridlock in the heavyweight division with a rematch between Wilder and Ruiz.
Then again Wilder blowing away Robert Helenius hasn't really demonstrated anything because for all we know Wilder might be on a downward trend, and you might argue Andy Ruiz is a little more sharper because of him being a little more active than Wilder. One round blow outs against men tailor made for you is not really good preparation for matches with guys who are not only tough but have fast hands and good decent skills.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
If Wilder can go 10 hard rounds with Fury, like he has, he can go 12 with Ruiz. Ruiz has the better skill but Wilder has the better will and power. Given it’s heavyweight boxing, I favour the latter (Wilder).

Most of these fights don’t need belts at stake.
They just gotta be on their A game.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. - Who wins?
Match up is good.
If they both came in close to 100 and the fight was well promoted it could do well.
Edge to Ruiz.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
Wilder kayos Andy. In his recent fights Ruiz has been pretty hesitant. And he never was special defensively. Deontay will find the target.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
If he goes 12 with Ruiz, he'll likely lose, cause he's not winning on points unless he drops him about five times.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
You're probably right.
Ruiz is a live dog because I think he has a tough chin, but depending on how open of a target he is, it's gonna have to be a goddamn amazing chin to survive full on flush bombs from Wilder.
If he catches more than 4 or 5 in a single round, yeah that's gonna be it surely.

Ruiz is the better boxer BUT Wilder is the superior athlete.
Ruiz on points or Wilder by stoppage. My heart says Wilder in 7-8 rounds.

Ruiz puts him to sleep early. Remember when you read it gents. You can trust your Uncle Keith.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
Ruiz can KO Wilder so it isn't like Wilder is the only one that brings power here. Tough one to pick. Gun to my head, I'd say Wilder catches him at some point. Ruiz can get defensively lax, and it's a no-go against Wilder.

I think Andy was a better boxer pre-AJ. He was a bigger guy but carried it well in the ring and he looked more comfortable. The weight loss has not helped his career.
