Nah, he comes back after another loss to Smith, wins three or four fights at SMW including a brutal KO in a crossroads fight and he's right back up there.

CEJ was weakened by weight-making.
We've seen it before haven't we ? Famously RJJ and some others.
Jnr was well known for having almost as good a chin as Snr !
He was hit hard and flush by Spike O'Sullivan and notable big SMW puncher George Groves and we'd all say "chin" was one of CEJ's attributes going in to the fight. And Beefy is a really good fighter, but nobody would call him an explosive banger even @ SWW. An early Smith stoppage was just about the only thing that was a really big price in the pre-fight betting - it didn't make a lot of sense.
So, to crumble like that - and offa not that much - we can say almost certainly that CEJ WAS weakened by the weight-making.
He could easily have a rest, rehydrate and do the weight properly and be his old self...

Chins cracked and that's why he should retire.
Punch resistance can have a lot to do with preparation and mentality on the night. It can also come back when those two factors improve.

Wonder how Liam feels about this. He must’ve thought he was due a night in Anfield or at least a big Echo show, he’ll get plenty of money for this rematch but it might knock other, bigger fights further down the road.

He's going to take a massive hit to his brand if he loses to Smith again. I think he will probably get KO'd the exact same way too. In my view he has to take it to Liam this time. We know Liam can be hurt and Eubank is the bigger guy. Go right at Smith and have a tear up and there is a good chance he could come out on top but if he is going to be prancing around the ring and using his head movement and reflexes for defence and putting himself in bad spots then he is going to get KO'd again and he is going to do that again in my view.

If I could see Anfield was never an option from the beginning then I’m sure Smith could.

Smith at Evens is the only sensible bet there.
Smith by KO will be a bigger price and is most likely outcome.

"We'll try and get a date that's suitable for all parties but it looks like the Eubanks and Wasserman and everyone really want the rematch and that's we'll get. I think it's a huge fight. The first time I think a lot of the casual fans didn't really believe Liam Smith could do it, despite everyone saying that he could. I don't think there was that belief.
"Liam Smith hadn't been in a pay-per-view fight before in the UK. He was new to that. He was a new name in a Box Office fight. But since that knockout he's now catapulted in profile. The bookies, from what I've seen, still have Eubank as the favorite, which is crazy to me. But it shows how much interest there is and how big this fight will be. Now Liam Smith is firmly on everyone's radar. May/June I expect it to happen. No injuries on either side and I think they both want to get on with it."

I feel that Beefy has the mental edge and physical edge (Eubank can't make 160 lbs with comfort).
However, Euebank will force this rematch to go the distance, I'm expecting something like 116-112.
