Might have been already posted but Motor City Kobra for Thomas Hearns is my favorite. He somehow had the face, personality and style to go with it.

I also like the more poetic nicknames like "The Old Mongoose" for Archie Moore and "The Cinderella Man" for Jimmy Bradock

At one point they tried to give a new persona to Lance Whittaker and so called him "Goofi" and figured they'd have this 6'8' whatver intimidating looking hw contender play off.....I dunno, cuteness and silliness?
I swear this happened kids, ask your dad, he may remember, though to this day it just feels like I used to drink way too much.
So that's my vote for best all time: Lance "Goofi" (with an i please, we don't need to get sued here) Whittaker.

My then cat got run over and his pelvis got broke, the vet fixed him and when we got him back, my father-in-law called him pancake.
