dubois won maybe a round, we need the undisputed fight next
That would be nice but I can't see Fury risking it. Maybe if Uysk looked bad... But he didn't.

It was low but not as low as Ward v Kovalev.
Different ref might have seen it different.

Clearly a low blow. Allegedly needs to shut up.

it was clearly low, most of dub's glove was below the beltline. dubs won a round tops and was out of his depth
How low is your belly button. I could see ddd belly button during the fight but not usyk. It was not in the groin. It was bang on the money. If you walk around wearing you pants up around your nipples you can’t claim a low blow on the waistline.
How high do you wear your trousers ? I bet they are alwwys below your belly button. ?

Entertaining fight. Usyk was up on the cards wide. Dubois never really seemed out of the fight and actually had a good gameplan to attack the body, he just wasn't skilled enough to execute it against a superior fighter like Usyk.
The body shot that knocked Usyk down was border line. It was called low and I honestly wouldn't have a problem with it called either way.
The stoppage was just OK. Dubois was still dangerous at that point but he looked a bit overwhelmed by Usyk. Usyk definitely got a bit of favorable refereeing, I've seen worse.
Only fight I care to see Usyk in now is against Fury.

Yes, all other fights for Fury or Usyk would be cheating the fans.
This is the one everyone wants.
Everyone except Fury.

Dubois was actually counted out.
He looked to me like he
could have beat the count, but he'd had enough.

It does evoke Ward vs Kovalev doesn't it. The outcome was different but nobody liked that outcome. I still cannot believe Ward retired after that. Anyway for team Dubois to protest it means they would be fine winning the bout with a borderline low shot. No to the rematch line up the next victim.

Usyk's balls where all men's navel is located. Sneaky f'er. Dubois who gets knocked down and out by jabs somehow actually deserves a rematch.

"The controversial decision has earned much commentary from those within the sport and fans online, with former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew weighing in on the discussion over whether Dubois had actually landed a low blow on his opponent.
Writing on Twitter following the fight, he said:'
Anything below the naval is classed as low in boxing! That's not my opinion, that's a FACT! That's the rules!
'Your shorts shouldn't cover your naval 'cos if they do the belt can be hit! This pictured says a thousand words! Spew it once and you'll spew it again is also another fact!' "
Is Bellew actually right about anything below the navel being a low blow?
Any referees here to confirm?
Because if he is right, that might put a different perspective on many, many fights.

Those who claim the shot was legal don't understand the rule. It's a foul if you hit below the belt. The belt being an imaginary line from the top of the hips to the navel. This is independent of where the trunks are, though the trunk shouldn't go above this, in pro boxing they usually allow but the referee marks where it is allowed and where not prior to the fight.
Half the glove lands under the belt with the upper part of the glove landing on the belt. The whole glove lands under the navel/top of the hips. Clear low blow.
To clarify: The shot is not on the balls but that doesn't make it a legal blow.

The ref tells at instructions where is legal. The punch looked legal to me

how??
most of his glove is below the belt line. it's straight on with the middle of the map on usyk's left trunk leg. ive never once heard a ref say that hitting below the belt line is good

Some is on the belt line some off. Its a judgement call in that area
It looked good in real time. It was called low - reminded me of ruiz v holyfield

the entire fist of the glove is below the belt, going all the way down to the lower part of the design on usyk's trunks . no idea why we now think that type of shot is legal. ive never seen a ref say below the belt is good. even when a fighter's trunks are high, they'll just say nothing below the beltline

ya, we can already see clearly where it lands, from a better angle
when did hitting below the belt line become the new acceptable for a low blow?

Yeah it looks low... this angle is the first i saw where i thought it was good. Tough call looks like the ref got it
Dub is lucky everyone talking about this instead of him quitting again

The punch wasn't intentional, so D3 didn't lose any points.
Live, the punch looked clean, but on replay, especially looking at it in slow motion, it should have been called low.
You don't have to get punched directly in the groin either for your area to be affected. Cups shift, etc, which could have happened here.

There was no referee stoppage, Dubois was knocked out. Officially

I have to admit I was bamboozled by the commentators. Tim Bradley in particular. It looks clearly low from this shot, while it looked borderline from the replays on ESPN. The angle wasn't very good but I trusted the bozos calling the fight. Amateur move

Dubois' low blow didn't look that low, but anyway there was a so huge gap in class, that barely Dub has done anything else significant.
