i love that the George Groves meme continues on here long after its originator departed and now, members who joined long after it was coined are enjoying and benefitting from its ubiquity

The WBC have found Alycia Baumgardner not guilty of intentionally ingesting a banned substance for performance enhancement purposes in their investigation into her positive drugs test and so she will remain the WBC super-featherweight world champion. Statement says there was "no conclusive justification to reject the accuracy of the adverse finding" but "evidence and arguments do not conclusively support Baumgardner’s intentional ingestion of Mesterolone for performance enhancement purposes."

Whilst I don’t fully support the strict liability approach whereby you get a ban if it’s in your system regardless of how it got there I think there needs to be a balance.

Without knowing Baumgardner’s defence I’d be very surprised if she was conclusively able to show it wasn’t her fault so should be serving a ban of some sort.

Someone like Enzo Macarinelli even served a ban, albeit a short one, when there was clear evidence that he didn’t intentionally cheat.

The WBC shouldn’t be the one deciding on this kind of thing as they’re ultimately a business who put money first so will do what’s necessary to avoid a potentially expensive legal battle.

BTW, I've heard rumours about this bout:
David Morrell vs Sena Agbeko https://boxrec.com/en/event/884961/3078080
Saturday 16, December 2023 - Armory, Minneapolis

that there were NO TESTS AT ALL. Neither before the fight nor after.
Is this possible nowadays for some kind of a "title" fight?

WBC not gonna miss out on an opportunity to rinse some sanctioning fees, the program being exposed for what it is and always has been, a PR stunt

my fave one was still the bird who got off for saying she tested positive because she swallowed her boyfriend's PED laden jizzum

is the wbc reaching new lows? jermall's eternal reign without a defense, briderweight, these laughable supports of ped users, mauricio jr or whatever his name is throwing his rattle around in interviews , etc
